DFS Digging In The Crates Daily 2020 Week 16 DraftKings

Digging In The Crates
Week 16
DraftKings (Main Slate)
Quarterbacks
Mitchell Trubisky @ Jaguars ($5,700)
One thing we like to do in DFS is pick on the Jaguars, the other? Use Mitchell Trubisky on the cheap. David Montgomery’s price is justifiably sky high, and using Trubisky with Allen Robinson/Darnell Mooney makes perfect sense. A-Rob is projecting only behind Tyreek Hill and Keenan Allen on the Main Slate. For perspective, Trubisky is only trailing Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, Deshaun Watson, and Jalen Hurts in terms of main slate, raw projections. Sign me up at his price point and use Allen Robinson with him.
Jared Goff @ Seahawks ($5,900)
Jared Goff has had the most upside on the road so far this season, averaging 28 or more DraftKings points per game in those contests. He’ll get a Seahawks pass defense week 16 on the road that has hemorrhaged yards all year. This NFC West showdown will determine the winner of the division. Using Goff with a combination of Robert Woods, Cooper Kupp, and Tyler Higbee is a sneaky tournament stack.
Running Backs
Giovani Bernard @ Texans ($4,800)
After a stunner week 15 against the Steelers, the Bengals still look like they’ll be without Joe Mixon again this week. Enter Giovani Bernard, again. We’re paying for volume on the cheap here and Bernard is coming of a 26 touch, 97 yard, and two touchdown affair against a stingy Steelers defense. He’ll have easier task against a Texans unit that is ranked 31st in run defense allowing over 150 yards per game on the ground. Bernard can be used in tournaments and cash games week 16.
Darrell Henderson @ Seahawks ($4,500)
Cam Akers going down was massive to fantasy owners week 15, but the beauty of DFS is that we move on quickly. Darrell Henderson AND Malcolm Brown ($4,000) figure to form a committee in Akers absence. They have both shown upside, but they haven’t shown consistency in terms of usage. It’s an interesting scenario to monitor as the Rams are in dire need of winning and they’ll need to run the ball. Gun to my head, it’s Henderson>Brown but it’s close. They are both salary savers.
Bonus: Melvin Gordon @ Chargers ($5,600)
Wide Receivers
Tee Higgins @ Texans ($4,700)
Tyler Boyd has yet to be cleared from a concussion to play week 16 and that spells a usage bump for rookie Tee Higgins. Higgins has showed upside this season and it would appear Brandon Allen is starting at Quarterback. Higgins has 22 targets over the last three weeks despite being without Joe Burrow and he’s been a near lock for eight each week. The Bengals are heavy under dogs +8.5 and should be playing from behind most of the game. He’s a cheap piece with upside.
Michael Gallup vs. Eagles ($4,100)
Andy Dalton has clung onto Michael Gallup recently and as a result we’ve seen SOME sort of rapport and chemistry with the disappointing Cowboys offense . Gallup has been targeted five or more times in five straight games and has shown 20+ point upside. He’ll get a middle of the road Eagles pass defense that just got eaten alive by DeAndre Hopkins. I love Gallup as a cheap piece one-off in tournaments.
Bonus: Chad Hansen vs. Bengals ($4,400)
Tight Ends
Cole Kmet @ Jaguars ($3,000)
I mentioned how Mitchell Trubisky is projecting well again this week and that i’ll be using him with Allen Robinson. I’ll also be using trubisky with Cole Kmet who is nearly free. For perspective, Kmet is projecting a tick under Logan Thomas whom is the third highest priced TE on the main slate. He showed some upside week 13 against the Lions and thats the kind of production we can be content with. Theoretically he only needs 10 DraftKings points to make value. I’ll only be using him in Trubisky stacks, but I get the logic in punting the position with hom to free up roster cap.
Logan Thomas vs. Panthers ($4,900)
Outside of Terry McLaurin, Logan Thomas has been the only true piece of consistency on a vanilla Washington Football team offense. Thomas has caught 28-of-31 targets over the past three games and has showed 24 or more DraftKings points upside in that stretch. He’s been a safety blanket for whomever is quarterback and impressive to say the least. Dollar for dollar he may be the best tight end on the main slate.
Bonus: Dallas Goedert @ Cowboys ($3,600)
Defense/Special Teams
Washington Football Team ($3,000)
The Washington Football Team may be the best defense in the NFL this season and has carried them all season. They are projecting as a top-5 unit and are priced as the ninth. They’re in a great bounce back spot after coming back to earth against the Seahawks week 15.
