Wild Card Weekend

DraftKings (6 Games)

Quarterback

Kirk Cousins vs. Giants ($5,900)

We have six games this weekend, and most people are going to pay up for Josh Allen. The Giants are graded as the third worst defense in the NFL, and have one of the highest implied totals on the slate. Cousins gashed the Giants at home just a few weeks ago, completing 34-of-48 passes, for 299 yards, and three touchdowns. A game where Justin Jefferson, and T.J. Hockenson went bananas. He’s a great GPP play this weekend that should come at low ownership.

Tom Brady vs. Cowboys ($5,800)

Uh oh, it’s January and Tom Brady is in the playoffs. It is hard to imagine that any team wants to see him. At 45 years old, he still, by all accounts, had a solid season. The upside showed just a couple weeks ago when he torched the Carolina Panthers, throwing for over four hundred yards. He’ll get a Cowboys defense that hasn’t looked great as of late, and Dak Prescott seems average. I anticipate a Brady to Mike Evans show against a Cowboys team that has yet to win a road playoff game in 30 years.

Running Backs

Travis Etienne vs. Chargers ($6,300)

The Jacksonville Jaguars are in the playoffs. It is hard to rationalize this notion, but someone had to represent the AFC South. It is now Travis Etienne’s back field, and that is good news for Trevor Lawrence and their balance on Offense. Closing out the season with 255 touches, and 1,400 yards, he could be deemed a “ bell-cow” by today’s standards. The best news? He’ll get a Chargers run defense that has allowed over 144 yards per game, and 17 touchdowns to running backs this season.

Devin Singletary vs. Dolphins ($5,500)

It would be a miracle if the Dolphins went to Orchard Park this weekend, and beat the Bills without Tua, and multiple injuries at running back. The Bills are 13 point favorites, which, if accurate, sets a script for the Bills ground game. Devin Singletary is that guy with some James Cook mixed in. This season
Singletary saw a majority of the carries in 2022, recording a 61% rushing share with a 9.4% target share. With defenses keying in on Josh Allen’s mobility, Singletary has had room to operate.

Wide Receivers

Isaiah Hodgins @ Vikings ($4,100)

Kirk Cousins is going to fly under the radar this weekend, and stacking him with one or two of his pass catchers is a must. It only makes sense to run it back with a Giant. Isaiah Hodgins who has become one of Daniel Jones most dependable targets over the last month. We can also toss Richie James into that mix. Hodgins is third on the team in receiving yards despite playing in half as many games as the rest of the Giants’ skill-position players.

K.J. Osborn vs. Giants ($4,500)

Using the Kirk Cousins double stack is looking more and more of a contrarian stack this week, and the names extend beyond Justin Jefferson, Adam Thielen, and T.J. Hockenson. K.J. Osborn has been SOLID this season for the Vikings. His rapport with Kirk Cousins continues to blossom as the two have connected 22 times over the last four games. There are several ways to mix up different variations of the Cousins stack this week.

Tight Ends

Evan Engram vs. Chargers ($4,400)

Evan Engram has surfaced several times this season in the sea of mediocrity. He has been to the depths, and way above sea level in a couple games. The former first round pick finished the season with 70 receptions, 766 receiving yards, and four touchdowns. The ownership will be spread out this weekend, but if I’m not spending on Kittle, Andrews, or Hockenson, then Engram is my guy. His wide range of outcomes makes him a high upside GPP target. The ceiling is low. Tread lightly.

Dawson Knox vs. Dolphins ($4,000)

Dawson Knox has scored a touchdown in each of his last four games, and he’ll get a Dolphins defense that allowed him to catch 6-of-8 targets for 98 yards, and a touchdown week 15. The Dolphins allowed the fourth most production to opposing tight ends in 2022. The price is right, and I love how the position will be spread out this week.

Defense/Special Teams

Jaguars vs. Chargers ($2,700)
