DFS NFL WEEK 16 DRAFTKINGS CASH GAME PICKS

QUARTERBACK

TOP PLAY

Justin Fields, CHI ($7100)

After a dud in week 15, Justin Fields is in a prime get-right spot against the Cardinals who are getting torn apart on defense every game. Arizona is last in both pressure rate and QB hits, and has allowed the third highest YPA and the eighth most FPPG to opposing QBs. Even if his passing is inefficient, Fields has rushed 49 times over the past four games which heightens his floor/ceiling combination considerably. He’ll be popular, and rightfully so.

Other options - Dak Prescott

Mid-tier options - Kyler Murray

VALUE PLAY

Joe Flacco, CLE ($5500)

In his three games since coming literally off the couch, Joe Flacco has thrown seven TD passes and passed for over 300 yards in his last two games. The Texans’ are routinely involved in high-scoring games, so Flacco should be slinging the ball against them. Houston has allowed the sixth most FPPG to opposing QBs, and just recently allowed ZACK WILSON to throw for over 300 yards against them.

Other options - Baker Mayfield, Geno Smith, Nick Mullens

RUNNING BACK

TOP PLAY

Jonathan Taylor, IND ($7200)

This slate is unique, as there are no high-priced running backs in the player pool (Rachaad White at $7400 is the most expensive). Injuries have derailed Jonathan Taylor from a season-long perspective, but he’s been terrific for DFS purposes. Taylor looks like he’ll have no injury designation heading into Sunday, whereas Zack Moss is looking super iffy with his forearm injury. Before Taylor went down, he was logging over an 80% snap share and 85% carry share.
Other options - Rachaad White

Mid-tier options - Tony Pollard, Travis Etienne, Bijan Robinson, Breece Hall

VALUE PLAY

Ty Chandler, MIN ($5600)

Ty Chandler is a borderline cash lock on this slate at $5600. The matchup is difficult, as the Lions have allowed the fewest YPG and the fewest FPPG to opposing RBs, but Chandler is fresh off a 26-touch game that he turned into 156 all-purpose yards. He also had 96% of the RB carries, and is simply too cheap for that sort of role. I’m into fading him in GPP with the tough matchup and high ownership, but in cash you have to click the button.

Other options - Chuba Hubbard, Devin Singletary, Jerome Ford

WIDE RECEIVER

TOP PLAY

Justin Jefferson, MIN ($8100)

With all the money we can save at RB this week, it will be important to have at least one high-priced WR in cash. Justin Jefferson is shaping up as a priority play at a price tag that is simply too cheap for him (we’ve seen him routinely in the mid-9k range). Jefferson went 7-84-0 on ten targets last game, showing that he can still be more than useful even if another WR (Addison) takes center stage for a game. Detroit’s secondary has been getting obliterated by opposing WRs in the second half of the season, and have now allowed the eighth most FPPG to the WR position.

Other options - CeeDee Lamb, Amon-Ra St. Brown

Mid-tier options - Michael Pittman, DJ Moore, Amari Cooper, Calvin Ridley, DeAndre Hopkins

VALUE PLAY

Garrett Wilson, NYJ ($5800)

It’s no secret that Garrett Wilson’s season has been completely derailed by poor QB play. Despite it all, he’s STILL sixth in targets, 13th in receptions, and 16th in RZ targets. That’s more than enough to risk him this week. Washington has allowed 178 points over the past five games, and have given up the second most YPG and the second most FPPG to opposing WRs. Wilson is still the only show in town in that Jets passing game, no matter who is throwing the ball.

Other options - Jayden Reed, Tyler Lockett, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Drake London, Elijah Moore, Jonathan Mingo

TIGHT END

TOP PLAY

Trey McBride, ARI ($5700)

Trey McBride proved me wrong last week, as he managed to go 10-102-0 on 11 targets against San Francisco. The Niners have been utter death to TEs for several years in a row, so this was the final proof that McBride is matchup-proof and we should just play his volume every week. McBride leads all TEs in YPRR and has 45 targets in Kyler Murray’s five games this year. The Bears have allowed the fifth most FPPG to opposing TEs.

Other options - TJ Hockenson, Evan Engram, David Njoku

VALUE PLAY

Chig Okonkwo, TEN ($3100)

There are far less cheap TEs to use this week than normal, so you may get pushed into the upper register (which is fine without the need for top RBs). If you do want to go cheap, Chig Okonkwo probably makes the most sense and is showing the most ownership right now. He’s only $3100 and has 20 targets over the last four weeks, which is enough against a Seattle team that is worse than average over the middle.

Other options - Tucker Kraft, Cade Otton, Jonnu Smith

TOP FIVE DEFENSES FOR CASH

New York Jets ($3100)
Chicago Bears ($2800)
Houston Texans ($3400)
Tampa Bay Buccaneers ($2600)
