Dollar Free Agents Week 13
Curtis Samuel- WR- Commanders
After a couple down games, Curtis Samuel finally looked back to normal last week against the Cowboys. He recorded nine receptions for 100 yards and saw 12 total targets. While Samuel hasn’t produced a consistent stat line, he is getting a good number of targets regularly. The Commanders face the Dolphins in week 13, whose defense has given up the 9th most fantasy points to wide receivers this year. Take a shot and start Samuel this week for a dollar.
Tucker Kraft- TE- Packers
If you are in a dynasty or keeper league, you may want to look at rookie tight end Tucker Kraft. Fellow Packers’ rookie Luke Musgrave is expected to miss the remainder of the season with abdomen injury, and backup tight end Josiah Deguara is also dealing with a hip injury. Tucker Kraft filled in nicely last week, catching two balls for 15 yards and a score. He could have an expanded role moving toward the end of the season. He may be worth spending on a dollar on today if you are desperate for a tight end.
Jeff Wilson Jr.- RB- Dolphins
Depending on the availability of rookie De’Von Achane, former 49er running back Jeff Wilson Jr. may be worth picking up for a buck this Sunday. Last week against the Jets, he ended up with 11 carries for 56 yards and three catches for 17 yards. There is a good chance that Achane returns Sunday, but if the Dolphins go up big against the Commanders, Wilson should see plenty of snaps in the second half. It’s a risk, but Wilson might be worth a dollar this week if you have a running back on a bye.
Derek Carr- QB- Saints
Former Raider quarterback Derek Carr is available in over 50 percent of all fantasy leagues and has a favorable matchup in week 13. The Saints face the Lions at home, whose defense has given up the 9th most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season. Both teams are coming off bad losses, mostly due to turnovers. Carr did end up throwing for 300 yards last week but had zero touchdowns and threw a horrible interception in the red zone. I expect Sunday’s matchup to be a high scoring game and with Carr finally producing a quality outing for fantasy owners. He should be available for a dollar in your league.
Samaje Perine- RB- Broncos
If you have Javonte Williams on your team, you may want to pick up Samaje Perine as a backup. He seems to be the clear backup to Williams with Jaleel McLaughlin taking a back seat. Perine has produced back-to-back good weeks. In week 11, he recorded seven receptions for 60 yards, and in week 12, he had seven carries for 55 yards and a score. The Broncos face the Texans this week and will need to lean heavily on the run-game. Pickup Perine to backup Williams.
Dontayvion Wicks- WR- Packers
Another Packer rookie to consider picking up in dynasty and keeper leagues may be Dontayvion Wicks. He’s recorded four straight games with at least four targets and had three catches for 91 yards last week against the Lions. He isn’t someone that’s going to make your starting lineup this year unless one of the other Packer wide outs gets injured. But if you are in a deep league and could keep Wicks next season, he might be worth picking up now and stashing on your bench. Load up for 2024 today, especially if you won’t make the playoffs.
