Dollar Free Agents Week 3

Zach Ertz- TE- Cardinals

Even with second year player Trey McBride playing tight end, former Eagle Zach Ertz might be worth picking up for a dollar this week. In week 1, Ertz recorded six receptions from 10 targets, and last week against the Giants, he had eight targets, six receptions, and 56 yards. The Cardinals don’t have a ton of reliable options on offense. Ertz is still someone who knows how to run a good route and get open. He’s worth picking up in full point per reception leagues if you need a tight end.

Justin Watson- WR- Chiefs

If you need a wide out for a week, Justin Watson and the Kansas City Chiefs have a good matchup this week against a Bear’s dense that has given up the 9th most fantasy points to wide receivers this year. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes likes to spread the ball around, but Watson has recorded the second most targets on the team through the first two weeks. The Chiefs are due for a blowup game on offense, and I would expect Watson do be part of the game plan. Pick him up and start him for one week.

Kareem Hunt- RB- FA

After Nick Chubb left Monday night’s game against the Steelers with a serious knee injury, Kareem Hunts’ stock might have gone up. It’s not certain that Hunt will join the Browns or any team for that matter, but if you wanted to grab Hunt this week, you may be able to get him very cheap. The Browns make the most sense considering that Hunt already knows the playbook. Take a risk and pickup Hunt for a buck.

Tony Jones Jr.- RB- Saints

With Alvin Kamara out until week 4 and Jamaal Williams possibly out for week 3, Tony Jones Jr. may be worth picking up this week for the Saints. While Jone’s yards-per-attempt wasn’t the greatest on Monday night, he was able to find the end zone twice and help New Orleans secure a victory. Rookie running back Kendre Miller may make his NFL debut this week if Williams can’t go. The Saints face the Packers defense, who has allowed the 6th most fantasy points to running backs this year. Pick up Jones, or even possibly Miller for a buck this week.

Kalif Raymond- WR- Lions

Depending on Lions’ wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown’s status for Sunday against the Falcons, Kalif Raymond might be worth spending a dollar on and starting. Last week against the Seahawks, he hauled in two receptions for 46 yards and a score. But if St. Brown can’t go, expect Raymond to see more targets come his way. If you are desperate for a wide receiver, Raymond should be a considerable option this week.

Desmond Ridder- QB- Falcons

If you need a long-shot QB in week 3, Desmond Ridder has favorable matchup this week against the Lions. Last week against the Packers, Ridder recorded a respectable fantasy day. He threw for 237 yards and one score and carried the ball 10 times for 39 yards and a touchdown. The Lions have given up the 4th most fantasy points to QBs this season. If you need a quarterback for one week, this might not ne a bad option.
