QUARTERBACK

TOP PLAY

Justin Fields, CHI ($7900)

Opportunity cost absolutely speaks to not paying up for QB in cash, but Fields’ floor and ceiling can’t be denied in a matchup against Detroit. The last time these two squared off, Fields threw for 167 yards and two TDs while also posting a 13/147/2 line on the ground. Detroit has allowed the most FPPG to opposing QBs.

Other options - Patrick Mahomes

Mid-tier options - Trevor Lawrence, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers

VALUE PLAY

Jared Goff, DET ($5600)

The other side of the ball is absolutely where I’m going in cash this week, and ownership is reflecting this as well. Goff is averaging 277 passing YPG at home this season while also throwing for 20 TDs against only three interceptions. Chicago has allowed the eighth most FPPG to opposing QBs, and Detroit has an elite team total of 30 points. You want pieces of this game in cash contests, and Goff is the easiest starting point.

Other options - Daniel Jones, Gardner Minshew, Teddy Bridgewater

RUNNING BACK

TOP PLAY

Saquon Barkley, NYG ($8000)

This time of year, you’re targeting teams that have everything to play for, and the Giants are one of them. New York is currently favored by 5.5 points at home, and Barkley is averaging 22.3 touches per game this season. The Colts are a run funnel defense that has allowed the sixth most FPPG to opposing RBs, and Barkley also has 18 targets in the passing game over the last two weeks.

Other options - Christian McCaffrey, James Conner, Dalvin Cook

Mid-tier options - Rhamondre Stevenson, Alvin Kamara, Kenneth Walker

VALUE PLAY

Miles Sanders, PHI ($5900)

The Eagles still have not clinched the #1 seed and Jalen Hurts is likely out again, which means the Eagles should lean more on Sanders after giving him 22 touches a week ago against Dallas. He’s not involved in the passing game which is tough, but the price is solid for someone who has 11 rushing TDs on the season and has very little competition for the early downs.

Other options - AJ Dillon, Tyler Allgeier, D’Andre Swift

WIDE RECEIVER

TOP PLAY

Amon-Ra St. Brown, DET ($7800)

This one’s an easy call, especially if using Goff as the QB. ARSB is second in the NFL in target share with a 33.5% mark, and he has 44 over the last four weeks (relevant since this is when Jameson Williams joined the fray). Detroit is fighting for their playoff lives, and St. Brown went 10/119/0 the last time these two teams met.

Other options - Justin Jefferson, Tyreek Hill

Mid-tier options - Keenan Allen, Chris Godwin, Christian Kirk

VALUE PLAY

Garrett Wilson, NYJ ($5500)

Mike White is back in as starting QB, and that’s about all you need to know here. Wilson thrived with White under center, averaging over 20 DK PPG and dominating the target and air yards share (more than twice his teammates’ totals in both). Wilson averaged over 11 more FPPG with White at QB vs Wilson. Lock this one in.

Other options - Allen Lazard, Brandin Cooks, Zay Jones, Rashid Shaheed, Elijah Moore, Tutu Atwell, Greg Dortch

TIGHT END

TOP PLAY

Travis Kelce, KC ($8100)

Always viable, and Denver has allowed the eighth most FPPG to the TE position. Kelce isn’t necessary this week, but if you don’t want to play TE roulette it’s a perfectly fine route.

Other options - None

Mid-tier options - George Kittle, TJ Hockenson

VALUE PLAY

Evan Engram, JAX ($4400)

This is a super complicated pick, as Engram is profiling as mega chalk. Over the last four weeks, Engram has 40 targets and is the overall TE1 in that span. The issue comes in with how much the starters will play for Jacksonville in this one, as the week 18 game against Tennessee is the important one. Right now I’m OK eating the chalk, but this isn’t necessarily the slam dunk play it profiles to be.

Other options - Cole Kmet, Dallas Goedert, Jelani Woods
