DRAFTKINGS DFS CASH GAME PICKS - WEEK 9

QUARTERBACK

TOP PLAY

Josh Allen, BUF ($8500)

There are plenty of value QBs to choose from for cash this week, but there’s also no player that’s more bankable at ANY position than Josh Allen. The electric Bills QB is averaging 30.1 DK PPG, proving himself matchup-proof even against a Jets D that is allowing only 5.8 YPA and the eighth fewest FPPG to opposing QBs.

Other options - Kyler Murray, Justin Herbert

Mid-tier options - Joe Burrow

VALUE PLAY

Aaron Rodgers, GB ($5900)

The Lions have allowed 32.1 PPG, the highest YPA in the NFL, and the third most FPPG to opposing QBs. Rodgers is currently the QB17 on the season while only averaging 14.9 DK PPG, but Detroit has allowed the opposing quarterback to be a QB1 in every week but one this year. Rodgers and the Packers offense have disappointed mightily this season, but if there was ever a get-right spot it’s this one.

Other options - Geno Smith, Derek Carr, Justin Fields, Trevor Lawrence

RUNNING BACK

TOP PLAY

Austin Ekeler, LAC ($8800)

The league’s overall RB1 in PPR, Ekeler is worth every penny of his $8800 price tag this week. The Falcons have allowed the tenth most FPPG to opposing RBs and have also given up the most receptions to RBs over the past four seasons combined. Ekeler has averaged 21.25 touches per game over the last four and he should once again be a featured player (both on the ground and through the air) with Mike Williams and Keenan Allen likely to miss this game.

Other options - Dalvin Cook, Aaron Jones, Josh Jacobs

Mid-tier options - Joe Mixon, Kenneth Walker, Rhamondre Stevenson, Travis Etienne (best value)

VALUE PLAY

Travis Etienne, JAX ($6300)

Etienne’s full workload has been unlocked, as he’s responded by going 34-270-2 (7.9 YPC) over the last two games (both losses, but still). Las Vegas has allowed the eighth most FPPG to opposing RBs. Etienne’s role in the passing game has been underwhelming, but there’s room for optimism in this game as the Raiders have also allowed the fourth most receptions and third most receiving yards to RBs. He’s not priced accurately for his role and talent.

Other options - D’Onta Foreman, Eno Benjamin, Devin Singletary

WIDE RECEIVER

TOP PLAY

Tyreek Hill, MIA ($8500)

Even with three different QBs, Tyreek is leading the NFL in catches, receiving yards, targets, and air yards. Until he’s the highest-priced WR on the slate, he’s perpetually underpriced on DK. Chicago has actually been tough on WRs (third fewest FPPG allowed), but TyFreak lines up all over and is a matchup nightmare. Even with similarly-priced WRs seeing better matchups, Hill is my WR1 for the second straight week.

Other options - Justin Jefferson, Stefon Diggs, DeAndre Hopkins, Tee Higgins

Mid-tier options - Amon-Ra St. Brown, DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, Chris Godwin

VALUE PLAY

Josh Palmer, LAC ($5100)

This is a different-look Chargers offense without Mike Williams and Keenan Allen, but it means that Joshua Palmer will step into the WR1 role and is simply not priced for that. To top it off, Atlanta has allowed the most FPPG to opposing WRs while also giving up the second highest YPA and ranking 30th in sacks.

Other options - Terry McLaurin, Christian Kirk, Jakobi Meyers, Romeo Doubs, Zay Jones

TIGHT END

TOP PLAY

NONE

Zack Ertz is GPP viable against the Seahawks who allow the most FPPG to TEs, but there’s no need to pay for him in cash.

VALUE PLAY

Evan Engram, JAX ($3300)

Over the last four games, Evan Engram has had 29 targets and a 66% catch rate. The Raiders have hemorrhaged fantasy production to opposing TEs, allowing the second-highest YPC and the third-most FPPG. As a Giants fan, I hate touting this guy, but it can’t be denied that he and Trevor Lawrence have a connection and the role is there for $3300.

Other options - Kyle Pitts, Robert Tonyan, Foster Moreau (if Waller sits again)
