Week 7

(DraftKings Main Slate)

Quarterbacks

Matt Ryans @ Titans ($5,400)
The highs and lows of Matt Ryan have begun already with the Colts so far in 2022, but he has also eclipsed 300+ yards in his last 2-of-3 games. The Matt Ryan and Michael Pittman stack printed money a week ago. It does feel a bit like chasing points this week, he’ll get a Titans pass defense that has allowed 323 yards in the air over the last three weeks. I’m going right back to the Ryan well, on the cheap. Tournaments only as his range of outcome is volatile.

Geno Smith @ Chargers ($5,600)
Geno Smith may be the best NFL story line of the season so far as he has thrown two or more touchdowns, in his last three of four games. He’s played better on the road averaging 29 fantasy points a contest. Smith has rushed for 48 or more yards in his last 2-of-3 games, giving us some added equity with his legs. Using Smith with Tyler Lockett (Questionable) or DK Metcalf has been successful all season as they alternate upside weeks.

Running Backs

Kenneth Walker @ Chargers ($5,800)
A good way to be different in builds this week, will be to incorporate Kenneth Walker with one of the aforementioned receivers. Walker was good chalk last week as he delivered 110 yards, and a touchdown on 23 touches (71% snap share). He’ll get a bottom eight Chargers run defense that is allowing 125 yards on the ground per game. Walker is firmly in play under 6 K.

Josh Jacobs vs. Texans ($6,500)
Ordinarily when 6+ K players do NOT make the DITC article, but considering Josh Jacobs has averaged 35 DraftKings points over his last two games, makes him a value. He is the eleventh highest priced running back on the main slate, and he’ll get a Texans run defense that is 30th and allowing 164 yards per contest. Dollar for dollar he’s looking like one of the best on the main slate.

Wide Receivers

Brandon Aiyuk vs. Chiefs ($6,000)
Brandon Aiyuk caught 8-of-11 targets week 6 for 83 yards, and two touchdowns. Aiyuk and the 49ers will get a bottom six pass defense week 7 at home. With defenses forced to focus on Deebo Samuel, and a healthy George Kittle, Aiyuk has showed us his massive upside after coming into the league in 2020. Jimmy Garoppolo was forced to throw more than he wanted to a week ago against the Falcons and now he’ll get Patrick Mahomes. I think Aiyuk can be used in cash or GPP builds.

Amari Cooper @ Ravens ($6,100)
Amari Cooper will get a Baltimore secondary Week 7 that has hemorrhaged yards to opposing wide receivers. Cooper has 24 targets over the last two weeks, with a touchdown in each game. He has commanded a 28% target share so far this season. His floor hasn’t been safe historically, but his upside is massive. I’ll be using Amari Cooper in tournaments.

Tight Ends

David Njoku @ Ravens ($4,200)
Next to Amari Cooper is David Njoku who is finally starting to pay off his first tound price tag from what seems like a decade ago. Njoku has 29 targets over his last four games despite only having one touchdown. The Tight End position truly remains a sea of mediocrity. We are either paying way up for Travis Kelce, or sliding down to the $4,000 range.

Evan Engram vs. Giants ($3,300)
I’ll be clear. We usually punt the TE (as stated) position, and Evan Engram just may be the cap saver we need. Darren Waller and Kyle Pitts are my upside plays, but injury and lack of volume are making them both extremely volatile. Engram has led the Jaguars over the last two weeks with 16 targets. So there is that. It makes sense as Trevor Lawrence needs an athletic tight end-safety valve.

Defense/Special Teams

49ers vs. Chiefs ($2,700)
