Quarterbacks

Mitchell Trubisky @ Lions ($5,400)

Back to back weeks for Mitch Trubisky making the Crates list. Scary stuff, but he’s a man under a micro scoped mission. Trubisky finished week 1 with 242 yards, and three touchdowns and threw zero interceptions. He’ll get one of the worst secondaries in the league at home vs. the Giants week 2 in a game where the Bears are favored. A Mitch Trubisky-Allen Robinson stack is largely in play week 2. He’s a viable cash game QB with enough upside for tournaments.

Jimmy Garoppolo @ Jets ($5,700)
Josh Allen did whatever he wanted to do against the Jets week one with his arms and his legs. The 49ers head into East Rutherford Sunday as -7 point favorite against a Jets team that could be the worst in the NFL. Jimmy Garoppolo is in a bounce back spot after a week one loss. The Jets are a good place to tune up. Garoppolo can be played alone (naked) if need be.

Bonus: Kirk Cousins, Gardner Minshew

Running Backs

Melvin Gordon @ Steelers ($5,200)

It is NOT looking good for Phillip Lindsay’s availability sunday. This is going to lead to potentially massive usage for Melvin Gordon who had 18 touches week 1. We have paid premium money on DraftKings for Melvin Gordon in recent years so we know what is capabilities and upside are. The Steelers have a stingy front seven, but Gordon will be involved in the passing game as well in a game script that will put the Broncos playing from behind. Gordon is a GPP play based on his usage upside.

Ronald Jones vs. Panthers ($5,200)
Bruce Arians was telling the truth when he told us that Ronald Jones was his guy in spite of the Leonard Fournette acquisition. RoJo had 19 touches week 1 against a stout Saints, run defense. The Panthers are the polar opposite having just allowed Josh Jacobs to run all over them for 139 total yards and three touchdowns. The game script favors Jones as the Bucs are heavy favorites (-8.5) with a high point total and a positive game script. Use him in cash games or tournaments.

Bonus: Nyheim Hines

Wide Receivers

CeeDee Lamb vs. Falcons ($4,700)

The Cowboys-Falcons game on paper looks like it is going to be a shoot out and we’re going to want pieces of both teams. On the Cowboys side, CeeDee Lamb is that cheap piece off of Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup and he’s a nice cheap piece in a game stack here. The rookie caught 5-of-6 targets week 1 for 59 yards. If what Russell Wilson did to the Falcons is any indicator as to what Dak Prescott will do at home week two, then exposure to this game will be vital for our DFS lineups. Lamb played 82% of the snaps week one and his usage could increase with the loss of Blake Jarwin.

Parris Campbell vs. Vikings ($4,500)

Parris Campbell’s connection with Phillip Rivers was early and often week one as the speedster hauled in 6-of-9 targets for 71 yards. The buzz has been high about him all offseason and he’ll likely be the WR 1 in Indy before too long. He’ll get a Vikings secondary that Aaron Rodgers was able to destroy week one. Campbell can be used in cash games or tournaments week two.

Bonus: Mike Williams, Christian Kirk, Scotty Miller

Tight Ends

Logan Thomas @ Cardinals ($3,600)

We have been talking about the Cardinals inability to stop tight ends in what feels like ten years. Good news, Logan Thomas will face the Cards this weekend after leading the Washington Football team with eight targets week one against the Eagles. Outside of Terry McLaurin there isn’t much stability in the receiving game which could make Thomas a nice safety valve for Dwayne Haskins to lean on.

O.J. Howard vs. Panthers ($3,900)

All it took was Tom Brady coming to Tampa Bay in waking up O.J. Howard after years of misuse. Howard caught 4-of-6 targets week one with a touchdown. The Bucs are heavy favorites week two against the Panthers and Chris Godwin is probably going to sit. Rob Gronkowski appears to have become more of a blocker and Howard will be the specimen that presents weekly defensive mis matches. Howard should firmly be in the mix when stacking this game.

Bonus: Jonnu Smith

Defenses

Colts $2,500
Jets $2,000
