Week 1

DraftKings (Main Slate:12 Games)

Quarterbacks

Mitchell Trubisky @ Lions ($5,400)

Mitchell Trubisky has been named the week 1 starter for the Bears and he’ll get a divisional match up on the road against a Darrius Slay-less Lions secondary. Trubisky gashed the Lions in 2019, throwing six touchdowns in two games. The Bears are three point dog in a game that should stay close. A Trubisky-A Rob stack sound spicy (Miller-Cohen also options) is the move and running it back with maybe Kenny Golladay.

Gardner Minshew vs. Colts ($5,800)

Uncle Lenny Fournette has departed and the Jaguars could be forced to throw a ton in the early goings. Gardner Minshew has a young, stud cast of wide receivers at his disposal and he’ll get a bottom ten Colts secondary at home week 1. Stacking Minshew with D.J. Chark seems sharp and maybe even rookie Lavishka Shenault. The Jaguars are home dogs. The Jaguars are being talked about as a bottom of the barrel offense in 2020, but the negative game scripts will allow us to squeeze some big weeks out of Minshew.

Bonus: Joe Burrow ($5,800)

Running Backs

Sony Michel vs. Dolphins ($4,600)

It is no surprise that Sony Michel has under achieved so far in the NFL. The name of the game is volume and Michel should have plenty of that week 1 against a lowly Dolphins run defense. Damien Harris just landed on injured reserve, Lamar Miller was cut and Rex Burkhead and James White are better served primarily in the passing game. The stars are aligning and the positive game script should benefit him.

Tarik Cohen @ Lions ($4,900)

Tarik Cohen had 104 targets in 2019 and has accumulated 150 receptions over the past two seasons. He’s not big enough to carry a full work load, but he’s a safety blanket for Mitch Trubisky. David Montgomery’s week 1 status is up in the air and the Bears will need to use Cohen in the flat and on dump offs regularly as their offense creates a 2020 identity that incorporates him consistently. His sub-5 k price tag is the allure. Especially in full PPR.
Bonus: Antonio Gibson ($4,000 vs. Eagles)

Wide Receivers

Hunter Renfrow @ Panthers ($4,500)

Hunter Renfrow wrapped up 2019 on a HEATER! He caught 13-of-18 targets for 209 yards and two touchdowns. He’ll be Derek Carr’s safety blanket slot this season on a Raiders team that will be trailing often. Renfrow will be a PPR machine against a bottom of the barrel Panthers secondary week one on the road. He has massive upside at his price point and will fly under the radar. He’s going to be a Crate favorite all season in this price range.

DeSean Jackson @ The Washington Football Team ($4,900)
If DeSean Watson is healthy, he’s still one of the best vertical threats in the league. Outside of Carson Wentz’s tight ends, his pass catching crew is THIN. Especially without the highly regarded rookie Jalen Reagor week 1. We also get the revenge narrative. One year ago Jackson tuned up his former team 8/154/2. They need his explosiveness and Carson Wentz loves him. D-Jax is the perfect upside tournament play week 1.

Bonus: Preston Williams @ Patriots ($4,500)

Tight Ends

Hayden Hurst vs. Seahawks ($4,300)

Out goes Austin Hooper and in comes Hayden Hurst. Dirk Koetter loves using high tight ends and Hurst will be an “every down tight end”. The Falcons will be another team that will trail a ton in 2020, thus, forcing Matt Ryan to sling. The opportunity has arrived for Hurst and he’ll likely be option number three behind Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley. Austin Hooper played 75% of the snaps in 2019 and if that is any indicator what we’ll see from Hurst he’ll be targeted heavily. His ownership will be through the roof week one but his price is too good.

Chris Herndon @ Bills ($3,300)

Chris Herndon was stealing all of our fantasy hearts a couple seasons ago before his injury. His hype was through the roof and it’s trending that way again. He’s nearly free week 1 and could easily be Sam Darnold’s number one target in the passing game. The Jets offense is going to stink in 2020
and if Herndon stays this cheap he’ll make the Crate list every week based on his usage. The negative game scripts with the Jets losing will also favor his volume.

Bonus: Dallas Goedert @ Washington ($4,100)

Defense:

Colts @ Jaguars ($3,000)
Lions vs. Bears ($2,700)
