DFS Digging In The Crates Daily 2020 Week 11 DraftKings
DraftKings (Main Slate: 11 Games)
Alex Smith vs. Bengals ($5,300)
It wasn’t long ago when Alex Smith had one of the worst leg injuries in NFL history. Thankfully, he’s back on the field. Smith has now thrown for at least 325 in back to back games and his home match up against the Bengals should draw similar results. He’s not the once mobile smith we are accustomed to, but his pocket presence has been fully on display. He’ll face a bottom six Bengals pass defense that has been shredded all season and his price is fantastic. If we’re paying up at running back (I am) then Alex Smith fits the bill with our lineup construction. Using him with Antonio Gibson, J.D. McKissic, Logan Thomas, or Terry McLaurin makes a ton on sense week 11 in cash games or GPP builds.
Carson Wentz @ Browns ($5,700)
Carson Wentz is in a nice bounce back spot week 11 on the road at Cleveland. His sneaky rushing equity is always a plus and the offense is gradually getting healthy. He’s not in play for cash games, but the upside is there for tournaments. He looked like an MVP in 2017 prior to injuring his ACL. He’ll get a bottom 12 Browns defense as the Eagles are grinding to winning the lowly NFC East. Stacking him with Dallas Goedert or Jalen Reagor is an affordable, upside stack on the cheap.
Bonus: Joe Burrow @ Football Team ($5,500)
Salvon Ahmed @ Broncos ($5,500)
If we’re looking for short term running back volume on the cheap, look no further than Salvon Ahmed! Myles Gaskin is on injured reserve and will miss the week 11 showdown on the road with Denver. Ahmed had 22 touches for 90 yards and a touchdown week 10 at home against the Chargers in a win. The job is his for the time being and his involvement in the passing game WILL come. He accounted for 76% of the running back touches and that should bode well against a Broncos team that is allowing 128 yards per game. Personally i’ll have Ahmed in the VAST majority of my lineups.
J.D. McKissic vs. Bengals ($5,200)
J.D. McKissic has been targeted 29 times over the last two games and appears to be the teams James White. That is an enormous target share and historically Alex Smith has leaned on his running backs in the passing game. He has 17 DraftKings points in back to back games as well. I don’t LOVE the price, however, he’s firmly in play if we need a spot in our flex or a part of a Game stack. PPR gold on the cheap is how I view it. Make no mistake, Antonio Gibson has a prominent role in the rushing game and will also eat, but we’ll take the discount on McKissic.
Bonus: Kalen Ballage vs. Jets ($5,600)
Jakobi Meyers @ Texans ($4,900)
It’s been an unusual year to say the least and Jakobi Meyers being the Patriots number one wide receiver confirms it. Cam Newton has latched on to Meyers and has peppered him with 31 targets over the last three weeks, translating to a shade under 20 PPR points during that stretch. Sunday night's game against the Ravens was revealing in that Meyers played 57 of 58 snaps. He hasn’t had a receiving touchdown all season but like home runs in baseball, they will come. Fire him up in cash games or tournaments.
Curtis Samuel vs. Lions ($4,700)
Christian McCaffrey will be OUT week 11 and the Panthers organization has finally realized that Curtis Samuel is a weapon in the running game and receiving game. If Teddy Bridgwater does NOT play, then Samuel should pick up more usage in a more conservative game plan with P.J. Walker under center. Samuel came back to earth week 10 against a stingy Buccaneers, but his matchup week 11 will be more favorable. He’s a dual threat with upside, the only concern is his sporadic usage and having to share usage with Robby Anderson and D.J. Moore in the passing game. Samuel is an upside tournament play for me sunday.
Bonus: CeeDee Lamb @ Vikings ($5,000)
Logan Thomas vs. Bengals ($3,300)
There is nothing sext about starting Logan Thomas week 11, but he has been somewhat a fixture in Washington’s passing game. He’ll serve as a safety blanket for Alex Smith. The Bengals are among the worst defenses in the NFL covering tight ends this season, making Thomas our boy this week. If we’re paying up at running back (I am) or wide receiver, we’ll need to find cap space for our roster construction. For reassurance, LT is popping in many week 11 optimal lineups. He can be used in cash games and tournaments.
Hayden Hurst @ Saints ($4,400)
We, collectively are going to want exposure to the Saints/Falcons divisional week 11 bout. Alvin Kamara may be the best play on the slate and if i’m not using Julio Jones or Calvin Ridley is what projects to be a shoot out, i’ll take the discount with Hayden Hurst. He’s no 2019 Austin Hooper for the Falcons but he’s been steady enough. Hurst has caught 18-of-22 targets over the last three weeks. His upside has been limited so far but the consistency is there. Week 11 has a limited array of TE options on the main slate. What a shocker in the sea of mediocrity. Dollar for dollar he’s a top-6 TE option on the main slate.
Bonus: Austin Hooper vs. Eagles ($3,900)
Falcons @ Saints ($2,300)
The Saints will be without Drew Brees week 11 and Jameis Winston will be running the show. That will translate to picks. The Falcons have showed very little upside on defense so far this season but they are cheap enough to get us 4x.
