DFS Digging In The Crates Daily 2019 week 9 DraftKings

Week 9 (DraftKings)

Quarterbacks

Derek Carr vs. Lions ($5,500)

Derek Carr hasn’t needed Antonio Brown to be efficient thus far in 2019. He’s had Darren Waller and glimpses of Tyrell Williams and a flourishing rookie bell cow running back in Josh Jacobs. He’ll get a Lions defense at home that is allowing 290 yards per game. Jon Gruden likes to run and Carr hasnt attempted more than 38 passes in a game. He’s a cash game play for me and i’ll probably be using him with Darren Waller.

Kyle Allen vs. Titans ($5,200)

Just because Kyle Allen wasn’t special against the 49ers does NOT make him a bad quarterback. He’s inexperienced and he’s learning on the job. He has weaponry all around him and he’ll get another start as Cam Netwon rehabs week 9 at home against a middle of the road Titans pass defense. We really have to dig in the crates this week. Carr is dollar for dollar the best option at a bargain.

Running backs

Jaylen Samuels vs. Colts ($4,000)

The Steelers have been decimated with injuries to James Conner and Benny Snell which is opening the door wide open for Jaylen Samuels week nine at home against the Colts. Samuels has been dealing with his own injury but practiced all week. If Conner sits, Samuels could be thrusted into a double digit touch week and easily could be the crate play on the slate. I’ll use him in tournaments and cash games.

Mark Walton vs. Jets ($4,500)

Out goes Kenyan Drake and in comes opportunity for Kalen Ballage and Mark Walton. Walton had 14 touches week 8 and six targets. We love guaranteed work loads in fantasy land and we also love volume against poor defenses. He’ll get that at home against a leaky Jets defense week 9. I’m hesitant to believe in Walton completely but the work load puts in him play for cash games as a salary saver that can pay off his cheap cost.

Wide receivers

Danny Amendola @ Raiders ($4,700)

I love the Raiders/Lions matchup week nine and chances are i’ll be stacking this game. Danny Amendola is a cheap piece that has caught 16-of-19 targets for 200 yards over the last two weeks. The masses will flock to Kenny Golladay and rightfully so, but Amendola needs to be a part of that game stack based on price and opportunity. Use him in cash games and tournaments.

Devante Parker vs. Jets ($4,400)

I must be crazy to advocate for two Dolphins this week but it’s all about cost and opportunity. Devante Parker has scored two of the last three weeks and has 22 targets over that span. If we’re paying up at running back week 9 ( I am) then we need some savings elsewhere. Parker is that piece. He’s showed consistency on a team with nothing to lose.

Tight Ends

Dallas Goedert vs. Bears ($3,100)

Zach Ertz gets all the love in Philadelphia as their premier tight end but slowing emerging is his counter part Dallas Goedert. Goedert has scored in back to back weeks and has had more yards than Ertz. He’s $1,600 cheaper than Ertz this week who is also firmly in tournament conversations. The Bears have been stingy against wide receivers but mediocre against tight ends. Use Goedert in cash games and tournaments. His ceiling has yet to be seen.

Jack Doyle @ Steelers ($3,000)

The status of Eric Ebron is not looking great week 9, making Jack Doyle the primary tight end for Jacoby Brissett to lean on. Doyle has seen five targets in back to back weeks. Doyle is seeing 72% of the snaps and that could increase with Ebron sitting. If you are punting at the tight end position, he deserves a serious look based on cost and usage week 9. He’s in play for cash games.

Defense/Special teams

Vikings @ Chiefs ($2,700)

The Vikings will get a Patrick Mahomes-less Chiefs team week 9 that will feature Matt Moore. They should be able to force a couple turnovers at Arrowhead.
