Digging In The Crates Daily 2018 week 3 DraftKings

By Justin Lonero
Justin Lonero Week 3 main slate (13 Games)

Quarterbacks

Matt Ryan vs. Saints ($5,700)
Las Vegas has the Saints/Falcons game as the second highest point total week three set at 53 1/2. Matt Ryan is the thirteenth highest priced QB and he gets to face a Bottom five Saints defense at home. Ryan was able to gash a top-10 Panthers pass defense at home a week ago. Plenty of weaponry at Ryan’s disposal, he’s a plug and play at his cost. This game is the perfect recipe for a close divisional shoot out. He can be used in tournaments and cash games.

Joe Flacco vs. Broncos ($5,400)
We are not accustomed to seeing to seeing a Broncos secondary that has been so porous in recent years so now is the time to attack it. Joe Flacco has a couple wide receivers to work with in Michael Crabtree and John Brown. Flacco has been airing it out attempting 55 passes week 2 on the road at Cincinnati. It’s nice to see his QB rating at 93.5 and he’s averaging 22.8 DraftKings points per game. If they can get some stability in the ground game with Alex Collins and Buck Allen Joe Flacco could have the best season he’s had in years. Flacco is a cheap Cash game play that seems to have a safe floor. Stacking him with John Brown would be extremely low owned in tournaments.

Bonus: Andrew Luck @ Eagles ($5,600)

Running backs

Corey Clement vs. Colts ($4,300)
Obviously the volume that Corey Clement will see week 3 is contingent on the health of Jay Ajayi. That said, we are paying for potential volume in a hurt back field at a bargain. There could be some fireworks in this game that Vegas has set as one of the highest point totals on the slate (48). The Eagles love the kid and yearn for some sense of stability in their running game with Carson Wentz coming back. Surprisingly the Colts have been top-10 against the run so far this season only allowing 83 yards per game. He can be used in tournaments and cash games. We’re getting 20 touches on the cheap here.

Kenyan Drake vs. Raiders ($5,600)
I get it Kenyan Drake is not a prototypical Crate play I would tout because he’s $5,600. But he’s on the fringe and he made my cut. He’ll get the Raiders run defense in a home game that is allowing 154 yards per game on the ground. Seemingly ageless Frank Gore keeps stealing Drakes shine and from a fantasy angle it’s discouraging. He’s getting Sixty percent of the carries and has been involved in the passing game so far. If the Dolphins want to keep winning, Drake will be a big reason why. Use him in cash games and tournaments. This is the week we see what the 24 year old is.

Bonus: Javorius Allen vs. Broncos ($4,600)

Wide receivers

John Brown vs. Broncos ($4,800)
Touting John Brown week 3 makes sense at his price point and it corroborates how I feel about Joe Flacco at home as well. Brown saw 10 targets week 2 at Cincinnati and had 19.2 DraftKings points. We are seeing the speedster healthy and glimpses of what he displayed a couple seasons ago in Arizona. He has scored in consecutive weeks and will get a now middle of the road Broncos secondary at home. Use Brown in tournaments and save some money to pay up elsewhere.

Tyler Boyd @ Panthers ($3,700)
The Tyler Boyd era is here and we have all been waiting patiently. He’s commanded 14 targets over the first Two weeks and found the end zone week two against Baltimore. The buzz all offseason has been centered around speedster John Ross but it looks like a rapport is being formed with Dalton and Boyd. It is Boyd’s best start to his career and the Bengals are 2-0. A.J. Green will see some difficult coverage certain weeks which will free up Boyd. They’ll get a Panthers team that has been stingy against the pass so far this season. They showed their colors against Matt Ryan and the Falcons last week where he lit them up. I cannot advocate for Boyd in cash games this early but he is a tournament play at his near free price tag.

Bonus: Dede Westbrook vs. Titans ($4,600)

Tight End

Will Dissly vs. Cowboys ($3,300)
Out goes Jimmy Graham and in comes Will Dissly. Who? Kidding aside Dissly has scored in back to back weeks and Russel Wilson could use all of the offensive talent he can get to help the Seahawks. With Doug Baldwin sidelined there are targets to be had. He gets a good match up against the Cowboys at home week 3. Get while the getting is good. His usage will be there week to week and he’ll have a strong red zone presence. He may be heavily owned but he’ll also be tough to fade.

Austin Hooper vs. Saints ($2,900)
Austin Hooper makes a fantastic Fantasy tight end week 3 in what appears to look like a divisional, fast track shoot out against what has appeared to be a pathetic Saints pass defense. Hooper caught all five targets and found the end zone for the first time in 2018. Matt Ryan loves him in the Red Zone. If Tyrod Taylor and Ryan Fitzpatrick can torch the Saints, Matt Ryan could look like Dan Marino against them. I’m buying. He can be used in cash games and tournaments.

Bonus: Eric Ebron vs. Colts ($3,400)

Defense/Special Teams

Dolphins vs. Raiders ($2,700)
I’ll take a defense that has five interceptions, three sacks, one defensive fumble recovery and a touchdown over the first two weeks against a struggling quarterback in Derek Carr who has to fly 3,000 miles in a plane. The Dolphins are hot and I want to be on the right side of it until they show us otherwise. Kenyan Drake and Dolphins defense stack makes perfect sense to me.
