Digging In The Crates week 9
(DraftKings Main Slate)

Week 9

Quarterbacks

Jordan Love @ Chiefs ($4,400)

The moment is here for Jordan Love and it’s probably not in the fashion that the Packers anticipated. However, his price is phenomenal, he’ll have Davante Adams back, and the game script will be favorable, if Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs get in front early. The Packers will get a Kansas City Chiefs defense that ranks 29th in yards per attempt. The price is too good here. A game stack is in order.

Tyrod Taylor vs. Dolphins ($5,000)

Tyrod is back! Take it with a grain of salt. That said, he was solid in the two games he played in this season (20.1 FPG). The good news? He’ll get a Dolphins secondary that is 31st in allowing passing yards per game (291). He also brings some rushing equity to the table. Stacking Taylor with Brandin Cooks is a pretty simple stack that is affordable enough to jam in potentially three of the slates highest ticketed running backs.

Running Backs

Kenyan Drake @ Giants ($5,100)

Sometimes all it takes is a coaching hire to get more recognition. Kenyan Drake has scored in back to back weeks prior to the Bye. The touch increase is encouraging and should continue to increase with the loss of Henry Ruggs. Dollar for dollar he may be the best sub $6,000 running back on the main slate. We havent seen enough stability to use him in cash games, but he’s a great tournament play, and a cheaper pivot off of Josh Jacobs.

Myles Gaskin vs. Texans ($5,800)

It is certainly a week to “spend” at running back, the top six or seven in particular. Myles Gaskin, similar to Kenyan Drake, can provide us with ceiling games from time to time. Their floors are low, but their involvement in the passing game gives us hope in tournaments. The Dolphins offensive line has been suspect, but they get a dreadful Texans team at home as 6.5 point favorites. Gaskin is another fantastic tournament play week nine, and I love him if he can get 15-20 touches.

Wide Receivers

Hunter Renfrow @ Giants ($4,800)

Hunter Renfrow was made for PPR leagues, high volume in regards to targets, and a sufficient amount of receptions to be a “safe” week to week play. With Henry Ruggs out of Las Vegas, Derek Carr will have to make more happen with less. No ceiling games, YET. However, he’s almost a guarantee for 5-8 targets, and he’ll get a middle of the road Giants secondary. Renfrow makes a good last piece or he can be used in a stack with Derek Carr .

Jarvis Landry @ Bengals ($5,100)

The Odell Beckham marriage in Cleveland was a rocky one, and his departure will allow other mouths to eat in the offense. Jarvis Landry fits this bill perfectly week 9 at his cost-volume. Landry has 18 targets over the last two weeks, and he’ll get a Bengals secondary that was absolutely annihilated by Mike White and the Jets week 8. He’s the perfect, underneath safety valve for Baker Mayfield this sunday.

Tight Ends

Dallas Goedert vs. Chargers ($4,500)

Now that long time Eagle Zach Ertz is gone, Dallas Goedert is the lone ranger in Philly at tight end. Goedert has caught 9-of-12 targets over the last two games. It’s clear that he is Jalen Hurts safety valve on a somewhat vanilla offense that will take productivity anywhere they can’t get it. Goedert is a top-5 play at TE on the main slate $2,500 less than Travis Kelce.

Dan Arnold vs. Bills ($3,400)

Dan Arnold is building a strong rapport since his arrival from Arizona and is still available at a Crate price. Arnold caught 8-of-10 targets week 8 against the Seahawks. He’s a big target for Trevor Lawrence. He’s an upside punt that will allow us some cap space to use elsewhere.

Defense/Special Teams

Chiefs vs. Packers ($2,300)
