Dan Arnold 2021 Outlook
Arnold agreed to terms with the Panthers on a two-year, $6 million deal, reuniting with former Saints assistant Joe Brady, who is the Panthers' offensive coordinator. Arnold is coming off a career year with the Cardinals, and Carolina needs him to hit the ground running. As Fansided.com reminded readers, the team had little production from Ian Thomas and Chris Manhertz after parting ways with veteran Greg Olsen. While it's unlikely Arnold replicates what Olsen achieved during his time with the Panthers, the converted wideout is an intriguing prospect. An athletic and efficient route-runner, his 31 receptions last season came on just 45 targets giving him 438 receiving yards and four touchdowns -- more than Thomas and Manhertz combined. Arnold's 24 first downs on those catches show he's capable of delivering when it matters most. Building rapport with a new QB in Sam Darnold, Arnold still has much to prove (and plenty of development to do as a blocker) before he should be considered fantasy-worthy. Still, as Fansided's Dean Jones summed up: "[Arnold] offers something a little bit different to what the Panthers have currently, and his assured hands between the hash marks are welcomed considering Curtis Samuel departed for the Washington Football Team.'
