Digging In The Crates Week 14
(DraftKings Main Slate)

Week 14

Quarterbacks

Taysom Hill vs. Jets ($5,600)

Taysom Hill Week 14 isn’t the worst idea against the lowly Jets on the road. The allure obviously derives from Hill’s rushing equity, even if he produces for us in the short term despite his injured finger. Hill has averaged 21 fantasy points in five career starts. The Jets have given up the fourth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks over the last seven weeks. Pairing Hill with Alvin Kamara makes a beautiful stack on the cheap.

Cam Newton vs. Falcons ($5,400)

Cam Newton will get a Falcons defense that is allowing the second most fantasy points to quarterbacks. Fresh off a bye, Newton should pay off his Crate price. His upside historically is undeniable, it’s just a matter of what version we get. His rushing equity is still the differentiator. He can’t be trusted in cash games, but using him “naked” or with D.J. Moore in tournaments is a cheap, upside stack.

Running Backs

Javonte Williams vs. Lions ($5,900)

Better late than never for the Javonte Williams show in 2021 as he exploded week 13 against the Chiefs. If Gordon should miss again, then we need to lock and load Williams in all formats. Truth is, even if Gordon returns, Williams will have a significant role. Just less usage as they have had a near 50/50 split this season. The Broncos will get a Lions’ defense ranks 28th in the NFL against the run this season.

Devonta Freeman @ Browns ($5,700)

Don’t look now, but Devonta Freeman has 20 or more fantasy points (PPR) in two of his last three games. The Ravens are going to run, and Freeman is their guy for the duration of 2021. Freeman will get a Browns run defense that is allowing 105 rushing yards per game. He’s been a top-10 fantasy RB over the past five weeks. His involvement in the passing game should get us there. I anticipate near 20 touches Week 14.

Wide Receivers

Jarvis Landry vs. Ravens ($5,400)

Jarvis Landry will face a depleted Ravens secondary Week 14 after coming off the Bye. The Browns offense is a shell of what it was expected to be heading into the 2021 season, and Baker Mayfield will need all the hands he can get if the Browns plan on making the Playoffs. Landry has been targeted 18 times over the past two weeks and if he plays (knee) he should command all the usage.

Russell Gage @ Panthers ($5,700)

Russell Gage will get a Panthers secondary Week 14 that was just toasted by Jaylen Waddle a week ago. Gage himself caught 11-of-12 targets for 130 yards against the Buccaneers. Without Julio Jones, and Kyle Pitts settling in as a rookie, Gage is really the only dependable option for Matt Ryan and the Falcons passing game. I love Gage in tournaments this week.

Tight Ends

Evan Engram @ Chargers ($3,800)

In the Sea of Mediocrity that is Tight End, it can get frustrating for owners. We find ourselves struggling for stability each week. Evan Engram has a defined role on a Giants offense that has been without Sterling Shepard, and Kadarius Toney. His time may be limited in New York, but as for now he’ll be sufficient at a depressed price on DraftKings. If we’re not paying up for Kittle or Kelce this week, i’ll find myself paying down for a guy that has been targeted 16 times over the last three weeks.

Austin Hooper vs. Ravens ($3,400)

Austin Hooper is going to fall into the same category as Evan Engram. The Browns receiving corps is thin. David Njoku may miss Week 14 as well (Covid-19 Protocols). We can assume that Hooper will command close to 90% of the snaps. Fresh off the Bye, he’ll be utilized as a receiver once again.

Defense/Special Teams

Browns vs. Ravens ($2,700)
