Quarterbacks

Ryan Tannehill vs. Chiefs ($5,100)

All Ryan Tannehill had to do was leave south florida and head to Tennessee to become fantasy relevant. Tannehill completed 27 of 39 passes for 331 yards and a touchdown. He also had four carries for 38 yards and a rushing touchdown. The game script against the Chiefs week 10 will more than likely have tannehill playing from behind. The upside is there (uncomfortable saying) and he’s been consistent. Tannehill is fine in cash games and he’ll still go under owned in tournaments.

Baker Mayfield vs. Bills ($5,000)

It is hard to advocate for anyone on the Browns at this point but the flame is lit (maybe) and Mayfield wants to “force feed” Odell Beckham. The Bills are legit but at least he’ll get them at home. There is too much talent on this Browns offense to continue to sputter as it has. Mayfield was a top-10 projected QB heading in and things have been bad from the get go. I think a Baker Mayfield-Odell Beckham stack is an extremely affordable contrarian tournament play this week.

Running backs

Ronald Jones vs. Cardinals ($4,300)

Ronald Jones is the starting running back in Tampa Bay, for now. Savor the moment. The organization has remained optimistic, and despite being less than stagnant at times he’ll be in line for upwards around 20 touches a week going forward. The Bucs/Cardinals game could be a shootout and we’re going to want fantasy pieces of it. Jones can fill our cheap void. He is safe in cash games but his ceiling is still undermined.

Devin Singletary @ Browns ($5,000)

This is usually the time in the NFL season where fantasy “diamond in the rough (s)” are found in fantasy football. Devin Singletary has the keys to the castle in Buffalo now and their offensive identity will be playing defense and feeding him, mostly. He’ll face a Browns run defense that is allowing 160 yards per game. Like Ronald Jones, expect Devin Singletary to receive near 20 touches week 10. I’ll be using him in cash games and tournaments for certain.

Wide receivers

Devante Parker @ Colts ($4,800)

It seems like it has taken forever for Devante Parker to bring fantasy stability to our lives. The Dolphins just lost Preston Williams for the season and Parker will become the prime beneficiary. Parker has caught touchdowns in the last 4-of-5 weeks. Impressive. He’s averaging eight targets per game over the last three weeks and that number could go up (slightly) with Preston Williams sidelined. Play Parker in cash games and tournaments week 10. He’s a crate favorite.

Jarvis Landry vs. Bills ($4,900)

Odell Beckham has seen a ton of double coverage in 2019 so and yet Baker Mayfield wants to force feed him. Meanwhile, Jarvis Landry has been targeted 23 times in the past two weeks. He’s clearly Mayfield’s favorite target dating back to 2018. The Browns are going to face a challenge against the stout Bills defense week 10. Landry is good at what he does, getting open in small spaces. He’s still too cheap

Tight End

Mike Gesicki @ Colts ($3,100)

Mike Gesicki was highly regarded this offseason in fantasy circles. Unfortunately he has become a victim of circumstance on an atrocious Dolphins offense. That said, he caught 6-of-6 targets week 9 for 95 yards. The catches and yards were a career best. Outside of Devante Parker, Gesicki should be one of Ryan Fitzpatrick’s top pass catchers going forward. Use him in cash games as a salary saver that doesn’t need to do much to pay off his salary.

Jonnu Smith vs. Chiefs ($3,500)

It is looking as if Delanie Walker is going to miss week 10 and Corey Davis is also questionable. Smith has been a favorite of Ryan Tannehill recently with 12 targets over the past two weeks. He’s no sure shot and this may be the week to pay up at tight (Travis Kelce or Austin Hooper). Sprinkle Smith into a tournament lineup he has upside. The bulk of his production which is exactly what he has week 10 in a game the Titans will more than likely be trailing.

Defense/Special Teams

Steelers vs. Rams ($2,600)

Paying down at defense is a popular trend in DFS. The reality is that we want to separate ourselves in this area. The Steelers have had at least 11 fantasy points every game since week three. Jared Goff is going to make mistakes and the Steelers will make him pay for them at home. Once again, they’ll be an under-owned unit week 10.
