Startem sitem 2016 week2 Sunday

By Brad Kruse
Brad Kruse In this Start Em / Sit Em column each week, I'm looking to find some fringe players that you might consider starting each week and comment based on their matchups. Early on, I'll base my selection of candidates on where they were with respect to ADP. I'm not going to try to pad my stats by suggesting your start Drew Brees each week, but instead trying to dig deep and find some nuggets for players to avoid or to go after. These are coin flip guys and if I can finish the year at better than 60% I'll consider it a success. My metrics to get the start decision are: QB 20 pts or more, RB, WR or TE need to score 12 pts or more for a successful endorsement. Defense/Special Teams should put in 8 points or more to get those picks right. I'll look at ~3-6 players on each Thursday night's game and ~ 6 players for the rest of the week to get you going. This year I'm going to be looking at different ways to integrate daily fantasy pricing and Vegas odds into my decision making process. Good Luck this year!

Jonathan Stewart RB CAR SF SIT
San Francisco held Gurley in check week 1. Stewart is a low margin of error player as he's not fully utilized in goal line nor does he have a strong pass catching role. Be careful with Stewart against an improved 49er team in week 2.

Carson Wentz QB PHI CHI START
I'm doubling down on my success with the Brock Osweiler recommendation in week 1. The Bears defensive secondary really struggles. Wentz should find some room to complete passes despite likely missing Zach Ertz. His legs could pull out a solid fantasy day if all else fails.

Jesse James TE PIT CIN START
Heath Miller had a big day in his last outing vs CIN (10 receptions for 66 yards). Look for James to possibly fill a secondary role to Antonio Brown in week 2.

Delanie Walker TE TEN IND START
The Titans have already indicated a need to get Walker more involved in the offense. Detroit just allowed 3 TDs to opposing TEs. This seems like a good avenue for a bounce back performance from Walker

T.J. Yeldon RB JAC SD START
Yeldon salvaged his fantasy day last week with 4 receptions. As everyone knows, Spencer Ware was unstoppable vs San Diego last week. Don't expect that same performance out of Yeldon, but with Chris Ivory looking iffy to play he should still have a full workload to provide him plenty of opportunity to accumulate fantasy produciton.

Sterling Shepard WR NYG NO
START New Orleans is shaping up like a team to start them if you have them. Roll out Shepard in week 2.

Eli Manning QB NYG NO START
Similar to Shepard, this is a matchup that New York should feast on. The Saitns defense has struggled and the Giants' offense could really put up some fantasy numbers in this game.

Jeremy Hill RB CIN PIT SIT
Pittsburgh will likely put up points on their rival Bengals. This could work out to be a better Gio Bernard game. Hill might be better on fantasy benches this week.
