Startem sitem SUNDAY Week 13 2022

In this Start Em / Sit Em column each week, I'm looking to find some fringe players that you might consider starting each week and comment based on their matchups. Early on, I'll base my selection of candidates on where they were with respect to ADP. I'm not going to try to pad my stats by suggesting your start Josh Allen each week, but instead trying to dig deep and find some nuggets for players to avoid or to go after. These are coin flip guys and if I can finish the year at better than 60% I'll consider it a success. My metrics to get the start decision are: QB 20 pts or more, RB, WR or TE need to score 12 pts or more for a successful endorsement. Defense/Special Teams should put in 8 points or more to get those picks right. I'll look at ~3 players on each Thursday night's game and ~ 6 players for the rest of the week to get you going.

Player Pos Team Opp Start / Sit Comment
DeShaun Watson QB CLE HOU SIT Watson, when healthy and all cylindars are firing is a weekly start candidate. He showed some rust in the pre-season and this is his first week back vs a run funnel defense - his former team. Despite this being a revenge game, I'm going to assume Cleveland leans on its rushing attack and Watson's passing stats are minimized.
Trevor Lawewnce QB JAC DET START Detroit can certainly put up points and its defense is much improved since the change in DCs. But, look for Lawrence to rise to the occasion and put up some numbers for you.
Zonavan Knight RB NYJ MIN START With Michael Carter likely OUT this week, look for Knight to continue in a strong committee role
AJ Dillon RB GB CHI START This is a great matchup and potentially also having a blow out potential if Justin Fields doesn't play
Miles Sanders RB PHI TEN SIT I'm going to assume this is a Justin Fields game leveraging his passing game assets and Sanders has a floor game this week
Josh Palmer WR LAC LV START Mike Williams is OUT, Palmer gets a plus matchup vs the Raiders - great combination
