In this Start Em / Sit Em column each week, I'm looking to find some fringe players that you might consider starting each week and comment based on their matchups. Early on, I'll base my selection of candidates on where they were with respect to ADP. I'm not going to try to pad my stats by suggesting your start Josh Allen each week, but instead trying to dig deep and find some nuggets for players to avoid or to go after. These are coin flip guys and if I can finish the year at better than 60% I'll consider it a success. My metrics to get the start decision are: QB 20 pts or more, RB, WR or TE need to score 12 pts or more for a successful endorsement. Defense/Special Teams should put in 8 points or more to get those picks right. I'll look at ~3 players on each Thursday night's game and ~ 6 players for the rest of the week to get you going.

Player 'Pos 'Team 'Opp 'Start / Sit 'Comment
Joshua Dobbs QB ARI SEA START It is a tough BYE week so marginal QBs in good matchups should be utilized
Jordan Love QB GB DEN START This is one of the juiciest matchups (despite Pat Mahome's performance vs DEN) that you have and Love has enough weapons to capitalize
Kirk Cousins QB MIN SF SIT This is a tough week to be without your top pass catcher. SF ranks 4th vs opposing QBs, look for a better option.
Gus Edwards RB BAL DET SIT Detroit's proved to be brutal vs opposiing RBs. Look for other options this week
D'Onta Foreman RB CHI LV START Foreman gets another start this week without both Herbert and Roschon. Vegas is surprisingly tough vs the WR yet are ranked 27th vs the RB. The Bears, with their undrafted rookie backup QB starting will run the ball.
Jerome Ford RB CLE IND START There's a lot of concern with Kareem Hunt's usage last week, but I'd still roll out Ford again in a plus matchup despite what is now likely committee usage
Michael Pittman WR IND CLE SIT Cleveland's deense has been brutal (NO. 1 vs opposing WRs).
Rashee Rice WR KC LAC START Rice has been great in small doses. With Justin Watson OUT, will they give him starter snaps to capitalize on the efficiency he's demonstrated?
Wan'Dale Robinson WR NYG WAS START Robinson is becoming a center piece of the Giant's attack and he gets the 31st ranked defense against the WR. Tyrod should be able to keep the wheels on if Daniel Jones doesn't play
