In this Start Em / Sit Em column each week, I'm looking to find some fringe players that you might consider starting each week and comment based on their matchups. Early on, I'll base my selection of candidates on where they were with respect to ADP. I'm not going to try to pad my stats by suggesting your start Josh Allen each week, but instead trying to dig deep and find some nuggets for players to avoid or to go after. These are coin flip guys and if I can finish the year at better than 60% I'll consider it a success. My metrics to get the start decision are: QB 20 pts or more, RB, WR or TE need to score 12 pts or more for a successful endorsement. Defense/Special Teams should put in 8 points or more to get those picks right. I'll look at ~3 players on each Thursday night's game and ~ 6 players for the rest of the week to get you going.

Player Pos Team Opp Start / Sit Comment
Geno Smith QB SEA BAL SIT This is a tough matchup for Geno who hasn't followed through his breakout season with a strong 2023. He's streamable, but not this week.
Chuba Hubbard RB CAR IND START It looks like Hubbard is now officially the starting RB and should get more opportunities to take advantage of the efficiency he's shown.
Jerome Ford RB CLE ARI START Ford looks to be back to a 1A role in Cleveland vs Arizona's run defense, time to go back to him
Dalton Kincaid TE BUF CIN START Kincaid is getting much more involved in the offense the last couple of weeks and this week gets the offense most vulnerable to opposing TEs.
Nico Collins WR HOU TB START Collins disappointed some last week, but look for a bounceback game vs the Buccaneers who are tougher vs the RB than they are vs the WR.
Rashee Rice WR KC MIA START Rice has been the most effective WR and the opposing game plan should be to limit Kelce. This is a plus matchup and time for Rice to deliver.
Rashid Shaheed WR NO CHI START The Bears have been more vulnerable to the boundary WRs than slot WRs. This should be a good spot for Shaheed as Jaylon Johnson likely will be on Olave and Shaheed should have good matchups.
