Week 12 Sit-Start/Sunday Edition

Brad Kruse In this Sit-Start column each week, I'm looking to find some fringe players that you might consider starting each week and comment based on their matchups. Early on, I'll base my selection of candidates on where they were with respect to ADP. I'm not going to try to pad my stats by suggesting your start Josh Allen each week, but instead trying to dig deep and find some nuggets for players to avoid or to go after. These are coin flip guys and if I can finish the year at better than 60% I'll consider it a success. My metrics to get the start decision are: QB 20 pts or more, RB, WR or TE need to score 12 pts or more for a successful endorsement. Defense/Special Teams should put in 8 points or more to get those picks right. I'll look at ~3 players on each Thursday night's game and ~ 6 players for the rest of the week to get you going.

Player POS TM OPPONENT START/SIT COMMENT
Trevor Lawrence QB JAC HOU START Last week, Lawrence had his best performance of the year, he gets a great matchup with HOU this week, look for another solid week
Chuba Hubbard RB CAR TEN START This is a matchup where both teams will likely run at each other a lot and minimize the exposure of their QB play
Derrick Henry RB TEN CAR START This is a matchup where both teams will likely run at each other a lot and minimize the exposure of their QB play
Gus Edwards RB BAL LAC START Gus should have another solid week in his 2 down / goal line role for the Ravens vs the Chargers 30th ranked run defense.
Jonnu Smith TE ATL NOR START I'm feeling this is a Jonnu start week. He's been up and down, but this is a good situation for him to have a strong week.
Trey McBride TE ARI LAR START McBride has been on a strong run with Ertz OUT; this week he gets the 30th ranked defense vs TEs
Tyler Higbee TE LAR ARI SIT Higbee has disappointed more weeks than he's succeeded this year and he faces a surprisingly tough defense vs opposing TEs.
Jordan Addison WR MIN CHI START It looks like the Vikings are going to give Jefferson through the BYE to heal up, that leaves Addison in a solid production spot vs the Bears
Khalil Shakir WR BUF PHI START Philadelphia is a pass funnel defense, it's a good spot to take a shot at a spike week for Shakir
