In this Start Em / Sit Em column each week, I'm looking to find some fringe players that you might consider starting each week and comment based on their matchups. Early on, I'll base my selection of candidates on where they were with respect to ADP. I'm not going to try to pad my stats by suggesting your start Josh Allen each week, but instead trying to dig deep and find some nuggets for players to avoid or to go after. These are coin flip guys and if I can finish the year at better than 60% I'll consider it a success. My metrics to get the start decision are: QB 20 pts or more, RB, WR or TE need to score 12 pts or more for a successful endorsement. Defense/Special Teams should put in 8 points or more to get those picks right. I'll look at ~3 players on each Thursday night's game and ~ 6 players for the rest of the week to get you going.

Player Pos Team Opp Start / Sit Comment
Matt Stafford QB LAR ATL START Stafford had a rough go of it in week 1's Thursday night opener. He should have more time to find his receivers this week and likely utilize more than just Cooper Kupp in this one.
Derrick Henry RB TEN BUF SIT Henry has always had a usage problem in negative game scripts. Factor in the performance of Hilliard (listed as questionable) and Haskins (received all the 2 minute drill action in week 1) and the fact that Henry's efficiency has dropped either due to the injury recovery, his age, or miles on his frame. This seems like a game to split ties away from starting Henry in week 2.
Devin Duvernay WR BAL MIA SIT To be fair, I don't like the matchups for any of the Raven receivers here, but Duvernay's 2 TD performance last week probably should be faded in week 2. I still think Bateman is the WR1. Miami's pass defense is tough It will be an uphill batle for Duvernay to put in a startable day.
Drake London WR ATL LAR START Drake London caught 5 of 7 targets last week for 74 yards and is starting to prove that someone other than Kyle Pitts is available to beat opponents in the passing game. London looks like the real deal and opponents will pay if they give too much attention to Pitts.
Greg Dortch WR ARI LV START Dortch looks like he'll get another game as the starting slot WR with Rondale Moore OUT again. Dortch looks to be in for a day with significant targets again.
Jaylen Waddle WR MIA BAL START Tyreek dominated the looks last week, but Waddle should be involved enough to leverage his talent and put in a startable week against Baltimore who continues to be dinged up
