In this Start Em / Sit Em column each week, I'm looking to find some fringe players that you might consider starting each week and comment based on their matchups. Early on, I'll base my selection of candidates on where they were with respect to ADP. I'm not going to try to pad my stats by suggesting your start Josh Allen each week, but instead trying to dig deep and find some nuggets for players to avoid or to go after. These are coin flip guys and if I can finish the year at better than 60% I'll consider it a success. My metrics to get the start decision are: QB 20 pts or more, RB, WR or TE need to score 12 pts or more for a successful endorsement. Defense/Special Teams should put in 8 points or more to get those picks right. I'll look at ~3 players on each Thursday night's game and ~ 6 players for the rest of the week to get you going.

Player Pos Team Opp Start / Sit Comment
Jared Goff QB DET CHI START Could this be a shoot out?
Justin Fields QB CHI DET START Ride the hot hand vs the league's worst defense, arguably.
Kirk Cousins QB MIN BUF SIT Try to find another option here in week 10. If Josh Allen doesn't go, this could turn this matchup into a positive game script which wouldn't help Cousins
AJ Dillon RB GB DAL SIT Dillon hasn't done much all year. Dallas isn't likely to be the matchup that allows him to break through given the news Aaron Jones will play
Brian Robinson RB WAS PHI SIT Robinson typically needs a TD to be viable, I don't like the odds of a TD vs Philadelphia's defense.
DeAndre Swift RB DET CHI START Ok, I think this is the week we get Swift back as fantasy managers. He's teased us the last couple of weeks, but he's off the injury report and he gets a weakened Bears defense who just traded away two of the best front 7 performers.
Jeff Wilson RB MIA CLE START WE don't know the exact split between Wilson and Mostart. I assume Mostart will still start, but Wilson looked better last week so he should get enough volume and perform well enough to play in lineups.
Jerry Jeudy WR DEN TEN START Tennessee has proven very difficult vs opposing RBs which forces teams into the air. Look for Jeudy to benefit
