In this Start Em / Sit Em column each week, I'm looking to find some fringe players that you might consider starting each week and comment based on their matchups. Early on, I'll base my selection of candidates on where they were with respect to ADP. I'm not going to try to pad my stats by suggesting your start Josh Allen each week, but instead trying to dig deep and find some nuggets for players to avoid or to go after. These are coin flip guys and if I can finish the year at better than 60% I'll consider it a success. My metrics to get the start decision are: QB 20 pts or more, RB, WR or TE need to score 12 pts or more for a successful endorsement. Defense/Special Teams should put in 8 points or more to get those picks right. I'll look at ~3 players on each Thursday night's game and ~ 6 players for the rest of the week to get you going.

Player Pos Team Oppt Start / Sit Comment
Joshua Kelley RB LAC MIN START Looks like Kelley gets another week with Ekeler recovering from his ankle injury; but this time vs a much softer run defense in Minnesota.
Jerome Ford RB CLE TEN SIT Ford takes over the backfield, however, they say Hunt will play. Tennessee is one of the toughest run defenses and with Hunt also playing, there is a question if he'll be active enough in the passing game to overcome the tough run defense.
Jaylen Warren RB PIT LV START Warren's role continues to grow and he gets a plus matchup vs one of the easiest defenses againt the run in LV. Warren should be a solid flex play this week.
Davante Parker WR NE NYJ SIT Parker had his season debut and quickly established himself as the number 1 target for Mac Jones. However, this week, both teams will likely try to use their ground game and the Jets defensive backs are elite so I'd hedge against starting Parker this week
Hunter Henry TE NE NYJ START As opposed to the WRs, the Jets have been generous to opposing TEs … look for Henry to continue his top 6 TE performances.
Mike Williams WR LAC MIN START This is a smash spot for Williams in what looks like a high scoring game where Minnesota has been giving it up to opposing WRs.
A.J. Brown WR PHI TB START Brown is probably too elite to put in this category, but with all the talk about his slow start, this should be a get well week vs Tampa in the Monday night clash of 2-0 teams
