Chris Ivory 2018 Outlook
The Bills signed Ivory to a two-year, $5.5 million deal, with $3.25 guaranteed in the first year. Ivory visited a couple of teams, but decided to play in Buffalo where he will serve as LeSean McCoy's backup and hold little fantasy value (unless Shady goes down with injury). That said it's a good addition for the Bills, who need all the help they can get in terms of offensive weaponry. And should McCoy get hurt, Ivory will be well-prepared to deal with the kind of defenses he'll face. According to NFL's Next Gen Stats, Ivory faced eight or more men in the box on more than half of his runs last year. And if opponents didn't feel threatened by Jacksonville's anemic passing attack, wait until they get ready to face Buffalo, who will be starting an unproven QB (whether it's AJ McCarron, first-round rookie Josh Allen or Nathan Peterman) working with an underwhelming receiving corps. The next hurdle for the Bills is offensive line (where they lost three starters from last season). It won't be ideal if Ivory is thrust into action at some point, but volume likely won't be among his issues if that's the case.
