Player Pos Team Opponent Start / Sit Comment
Andy Dalton QB CIN ARI START Dalton's coming off a bad week where Pittsiburgh's defense put the pressure on constantly. Things should be easier in week 5, and look for him to be startable vs. Aarizona
Auden Tate WR CIN ARI START Tate has totaled 16 targets the last two weeks and played 90% of the snaps. John Ross has totaled 12 targets in the same time frame and he's now on IR. Tate should see good volume in this game.
Corey Davis WR TEN BUF SIT Davis is coming off a strong performance vs ATL, but if he draws Tradavious White from BUF, it'll be a long afternoon.
Chase Daniel QB CHI OAK START There's always a chance that CHI gets up and just runs the ball even if they aren't productive so and turns the game over to the defense for the final third. But, the match up is good. Oakland is averaging surrendering 21.1 ppg to opposing QBs and they've played Joe Flacco, Mahomes, Cousins and Brissett.
Jack Doyle TE IND JC START Indy will need to gernerate some offense and KC yeilds 15 ppg to opposing Tes. Doyle is getting 70% of the snaps look for him to be the more productive TE.
Damien Williams RB KC IND START It looks like Damien is back and he should resume his pass catching role in the backfield. McCoy, however, has probably earned a sizeable share in his absense. I expect both to be startable.

In this Start Em / Sit Em column each week, I'm looking to find some fringe players that you might consider starting each week and comment based on their matchups. Early on, I'll base my selection of candidates on where they were with respect to ADP. I'm not going to try to pad my stats by suggesting your start Patrick Mahomes each week, but instead trying to dig deep and find some nuggets for players to avoid or to go after. These are coin flip guys and if I can finish the year at better than 60% I'll consider it a success. My metrics to get the start decision are: QB 20 pts or more, RB, WR or TE need to score 12 pts or more for a successful endorsement. Defense/Special Teams should put in 8 points or more to get those picks right. I'll look at ~3-6 players on each Thursday night's game and ~ 6 players for the rest of the week to get you going. This year I'm going to be looking at different ways to integrate daily fantasy pricing and Vegas odds into my decision making process. Good Luck this year!
