Quick hits week 4 2017

Jared Goff looked great yet again throwing for 292 yards and three TDs. Week after week Goff has looked impressive and should absolutely be a starter for any fantasy football roster, he is a low end QB1 with a ton of potential.

It took a few games but Todd Gurley finally had an explosive day running for 113 yards and two TDs to go with his five receptions for 36 yards and a TD. Gurley is heating up, look for more of this type of production in the future from him.

Sammy Watkins took three games to get comfortable, and with better QB play from Goff he was able to turn six catches into 106 yards and two TDs.

You don’t want to count on him as a starter, but, Brian Hoyer is more than capable of filling in when your fantasy football starter has a BYE. This week he threw for 332 yards with two TDs and he ran for a TD.

The 49ers need to find even more ways to get Carlos Hyde & Pierre Garcon the ball. Hyde ran all over the rams for 84 yards and two TDs to go with three catches. Garcon had his biggest game yet catching seven passes for 142 yards. The 49ers lack talent on the offensive side of the ball so these two guys should be sure fire starters for any fantasy football roster.

Alex Collins is going to continue to steal carries from any and all Ravens RBs. He was added to the roster about a month ago and since then he has played in two games carrying the ball 16 times for 124 yards.

When Blake Bortles is good, man he doesn’t look like there is a better QB out there. This week he threw for 244 yards and four TDs against the otherwise stout Ravens defense. The problem is one week he throws four TDs and the next he might throw three INTs.

It looks like Marcedes Lewis still has plenty in the tank. He hauled in three TDs this weekend for a huge game. Lewis might be a one week wonder, add him to your bench and wait a few weeks. With the loss of Allen Robinson he might get a lot more Red Zone looks.

Tyrod Taylor quieted a lot of his naysayers this weekend by throwing two TDs and not turning the ball over in a victory of the dangerous Broncos. Taylor is a low end QB1 with the ability to completely take over games.

Drew Brees looked nearly unstoppable on Sunday against the Panthers. Brees went 22/29 for 220 yards with three TDs. The Saints only hope of making the playoffs is via his arm, Brees will also easily steer your team towards the playoffs in fantasy football.

How good is Michael Thomas? At one point in the game Brees threw five straight passes for Thomas which he caught for 50 yards and a TD. Thomas is quickly becoming one of the better WR in the NFL. Start him each week as the Saints offense should start heating up.

Mark Ingram is easily the #1 RB in the Saints backfield, he carried the ball 14 times for 56 yards and caught two passes for 30 yards. He has a lot of competition in his own backfield to deal with so he is at best a FLEX option until someone gets shipped out or injured.

Christian McCaffrey is a nightmare to deal with and he isn’t even the starting RB in the Panthers backfield yet. McCaffrey ran the ball four times for 16 yards and caught nine passes for 101 yards. He is a solid FLEX option right now, and could be on his way to RB1 when the Panthers finally give him full control of the backfield.

The two headed monster at RB the Bears have with Jordan Howard & Tarik Cohen is going to be a handful to defend against, just ask the Steelers. Howard led the way with 23 carries for 138 yards and two TDs to go with five receptions for 26 yards. Cohen had 12 carries for 78 yards to go with four receptions for 24 yards. They are both worthy of a start at either RB1 or FLEX positions.

Antonio Brown is the most consistent WR in the NFL, and he had another amazing performance catching 10 passes for 110 yards and a TD. If possible, the Steelers need to get him the ball even more.

Devonta Freeman has been one of the most well rounded RBs in the NFL for the last three years. In a game where Matt Ryan was playing awful, Freeman led the way to victory. Freeman carried the ball 21 times for 106 yards and a TD to go with three receptions for 32 yards.

Jacoby Brissett had a monster second game with the Colts, it was quite impressive even if it was against the Browns. He threw for 259 yards and a TD and ran for 14 yards and two TDs. Most importantly he led the Colts to their first win and gave them hope they can survive until Andrew Luck is fully healed.

No one is happier about the improved QB play than T.Y. Hilton. He had his best game of the season catching seven passes for 153 yards and a TD. Hilton was bench worthy through the first two weeks but jumped himself back into starter category in any fantasy football leagues.

The Browns have got to find a way to get Duke Johnson Jr. the ball more often, he seems to be their only constant threat on offense. Johnson ran the ball twice for 23 yards and he caught six passes for 81 yards. The Browns are sitting at 0-3 and need to find a way to get him the ball often and early, he is capable of being a threat at the FLEX position in larger leagues.

Dalvin Cook is an animal, and he is a big reason why the Vikings have two victories. Cook ran the ball 27 times for 97 yards and a TD to go with five receptions for 72 yards. He is surefire starter as a RB1 in every fantasy football league.

Stefon Diggs proves weekly he is one of the best WRs in the NFL and a major fantasy football point contributor. Diggs caught eight passes for 173 yards and two TDs, all while playing with a backup QB.

If Deshaun Watson can trim down on his turnovers he is going to be a nightmare to game plan against. Watson still had an impressive outing against the Patriots throwing for 301 yards with two TDs and two INTs while running for 41 yards but also fumbling twice. He is still young and probably more of a backup fantasy QB unless you are in a double QB league.

Just start Tom Brady each week on your fantasy football team and sit back and watch him work. Throwing five TDs over two games is a pretty good thing, doing it in one game is an accomplishment.

Brandin Cooks finally made a splash with the Patriots, and he was the main reason they won the football game, outside of Brady. Cooks caught five passes for 131 yards and two TDs.

Another week and another two TDs for Chris Hogan. It’s a shame the Bills couldn’t find any way to utilize a monster at WR like him.

Odell Beckham Jr. got back to his old ways catching two TD passes but it was Sterling Shepard who was the star of the show. He is getting better each week and is getting close to being called a starter at WR2 position in fantasy leagues. Shepard caught seven passes for 133 yards and a TD.

The Seahawks lost but it had absolutely nothing to do with Russell Wilson, who threw for 373 yards and four TDs. Wilson needs a huge upgrade on the offensive line but he is still a monster in fantasy football when he does special things like this.

The Titans two FA acquisitions from two seasons ago led them to a victory over the Seahawks. Rishard Matthews caught six passes for 87 yards and a TD and DeMarco Murray ran the ball 14 times for 115 yards and a TD. Matthews is more of a FLEX option but Murray is a starter at either RB positions.

It is time to start Joe Mixon at RB1 for any fantasy football league. Mixon ran the ball 18 times for 62 yards and caught three passes for 39 yards. He is getting a larger role each week, and with the Bengals sitting at 0-3 he should get the ball even more moving forward.

Aaron Rodgers threw for another 313 yards and three TDs proving he is still a top five QB in fantasy football. It is a luxury to have him as your starter.

Kareem Hunt is good, and he is only getting better. This week he ran for 172 yards and one TD.

Ditto for Tyreek Hill who added another TD to his resume, this guy hurts you all over the field and should be starter on any fantasy league.

If Chris Thompson is somehow still available, go add him immediately. He is a nightmare at RB as he can beat you running and catching the ball. Thompson ran the ball eight times for 38 yards and caught six passes for 150 yards and a TD.

If it wasn’t for Dak Prescott throwing for two TDs and running for another one, Larry Fitzgerald & Carson Palmer put on a show for Monday night football fans. Palmer threw for 325 yards and two TDs while Fitz caught 13 passes for 149 yards and a TD.
