Austin Carr- WR- Saints

While most fantasy football owners of Michael Thomas, Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara were upset with zero touchdowns scored between the three stars, wide out Austin Carr went on to score for the second straight game. It’s still unknown how much playing time Carr will get once Brandon Marshall gets more familiar with the playbook, but he might be worth taking a chance on this week for a buck. So far on the season, Carr has nine receptions for 97 yards and two scores. He’s not worth starting this week against the Cowboys, but he is worth stashing on the bench and waiting to see if his usage increases. Carr is a better free agent pick up in dynasty and keeper leagues.

Matt LaCosse- TE- Broncos

With Jeff Heuerman now headed to the IR, Matt LaCosse might be a good player to pick up, especially if you also lost Jack Doyle this week. On Sunday against the Steelers, LaCosse recorded three receptions for 34 yards and a score. The Broncos face the Bengals defense this week, who’s allowed the second most fantasy points to tight ends this season. If you are desperate for a tight end this week, LaCosse is the guy you should pick up and start for a buck.

Jeff Driskel- QB- Bengals

Another player that will get more playing time after Andy Dalton heads to the IR is former Louisiana Tech quarterback Jeff Driskel. Dalton went down in the second half last week with torn ligaments in his thumb. Driskel impressively filled in for Dalton in the third quarter, recording 17 completions for 155 yards and a touchdown. The Bengals face the Broncos this weekend, whose defense has allowed the 16th most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season. Pick up and Start Driskel this week for a buck.

Ryan Switzer- WR- Steelers

A player on the rise and that the Steelers have liked for a while is wide receiver Ryan Switzer. Last week against the Broncos, Switzer had six receptions for 67 yards. He saw the most snaps, targets and yards all year. He seems to be getting consistently more touches than rookie wide out James Washington. Switzer also has an ongoing challenge with a local radio host, in which he has to donate money to a charity for every receptions he records for the rest of the year. The Steelers face the Chargers this week, whose defense has been solid against the pass this year. With Antonio Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster getting the majority of the defense’s focus, Switzer might be a good player to start this week. You can get him for a buck.

LeGarrette Blount- RB- Lions

If Kerryon Johnson misses his second game with a sprained knee, former Patriot and Eagle LeGarrette Blount might be a good pick up this week against the Rams. On Thanksgiving day with Johnson out, Blount had a season high 19 carries for 88 yards and two scores. Blount is the type of player that gets better as the game on. He got the majority of his yards in the second half against Bears, who has one of the better run defenses in the league. If the game is close for three quarters, Blount could end up with another double digit fantasy day. He’s a risk this week against the Rams, but he may be worth it for a buck.

Nyheim Hines- RB- Colts

Colts’ rookie running back Nyheim Hines is most likely owned in keeper and dynasty leagues, but he may be worth picking up for a dollar this week in standard leagues if Marlon Mack has to sit out due to a concussion. He would most likely split time with fellow rookie running back Jordan Wilkins, but Hines would see the majority of the snaps. Last week against the Dolphins, Hines had nine rushes for 28 yards, compared to Wilkins who didn’t record a carry. It’s not the best week to pick up and start Hines since the Colts are playing a tough Jasonville defense, but he may be someone you want to consider if you are in a bind for week 13. Pick him up for a buck.
