Jordan Thomas- TE- Texans

For fantasy owners that are in need of a tight end, Houston’s Jordan Thomas might be someone worth taking a long look at. In the last two weeks, Thomas has five receptions for 36 yards and three scores. He seems to becoming one of Deshaun Watson’s favorite red zone targets. Thomas is 6’5, and 277 pounds out of Mississippi State. He was drafted in the 6th round this year by the Texans and he appears to be improving every week. There is no question that Thomas is a huge red zone target considering his size. Thomas is worth picking up in dynasty and keeper leagues this week. The Texans have a bye in week 10, but pick up and start him in week 11 against the Red Skins.

Nick Mullens- QB-49ers

Second year quarterback out of Southern Miss, Nick Mullens, hasn’t been named the starter in week 10 yet, but he more than likely will get the nod over C.J Beathard after last week’s performance over the Raiders. Last Thursday night, Mullens completed 16 passes for 262 yards and three touchdowns. The 49ers face the Giants on Monday night, whose defense has given up the 12th fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks this year. Mullens should be considered if your team has quarterback on a bye week. He’s not a long-term player since Jimmy Garoppolo will be back next season as the starter, but he might be a good matchup player for the remainder of the 2018 season. Pick up Mullens for a buck this week.

Adam Humphries- WR- Buccaneers

Tampa Bay wide receiver Adam Humphries is a player fantasy owners should pick up this week for a buck. Humphries usage has sky-rocketed in the last three weeks, recording 27 targets since week 7. Last week against the Panthers, Humphries caught eight balls for 82 yards and two touchdowns. He seems to be passing Chris Godwin on the depth chart as the number three wide receiver. With Mike Evans, Desean Jackson and O.J. Howard being the focus for defenses, Humphries should se plenty of opportunities to take advantage of single coverage. The Buccaneers face the Red Skins this week, whose defense has given up the 12th most fantasy points to wide receivers this year. Pick up and start Humphries if you have a receiver on a bye week.

Curtis Samuel- WR- Panthers

The former Ohio State wide receiver is getting more chances to show off his play-making skills each week. On Sunday against Tampa Bay, Samuel had two receptions for 25 yards and a score, and he recorded a 33 yards carry for a touchdown as well. He might not be someone to pick up and play this year, but he has future upside for fantasy owners in keeper and dynasty leagues. The Panthers used a second round pick in the 2017 draft on Samuels, and he was a big part of Ohio State’s success two years ago when they went to the College Football Playoffs. Samuel is worth picking up for a buck and stashing on the bench until he gets more touches.

Duke Johnson Jr.- RB- Browns

After the firing of Head Coach Hugh Jackson and Offensive Coordinator Todd Haley, Browns’ running back Duke Johnson had a breakout game last week against the Chiefs. Johnson caught nine passes 78 yards and two touchdowns last Sunday in a loss to Kansas City. Under Haley, Johnson was barely being utilized in the passing game. With new Offensive Coordinator Freddie Kitchens, who was formerly the running backs coach, fantasy owners should expect Johnson to see a lot more opportunities for the rest of the season. The Browns face the Falcons this week, whose defense has given up the 4th most fantasy points to running backs this season. Johnson should be scooped up for a buck in PPR leagues.

Shaun Wilson- RB- Buccaneers

Fantasy owners should consider picking up Shaun Wilson this week if Peyton Barber and Ronald Jones III can’t play. Jones missed last week’s games due to a hamstring injury and Barber appeared to have tweaked his ankle late in last Sunday’s game. It’s not sure if Barber will make it on the injury report, but it might be worth picking up Wilson for a buck if your team is desperate for a running back. Tampa Bay faces the Redskins this week, whose defense has given up the 12th fewest points to running backs this year. Pick up Wilson as a plan B option if Barber and Jones can’t go in week 10.

Maurice Harris- WR- Redskins

Washington wide receiver Maurice Harris spent the last few weeks filling in for Jamison Crowder, but never recorded over 50 yards or three receptions in a week. After Paul Richardson left last week’s game with an injury, Harris recorded career highs in targets, receptions and yards. Last Sunday against the Falcons, Harris recorded 10 receptions for 124 yards. Richardson is headed to the IR and Harris will surely benefit from more playing time. The Redskins face the Buccaneers this week, whose defense has given up the 2nd most fantasy points to wide out this season. Pick up and start Harris this week for a buck.
