Adam Humphries- WR- Buccaneers

With DeSean Jackson in a walking boot at the end of Monday’s night game, the Buccaneers wide receiver Adam Humphries may be a player that fantasy owners want to target for week 16. In week 15 against the Falcons, Humphries was one of Jameis Winston’s favorite targets. He recorded five receptions for 43 yards and a score. Tampa Bay faces off against the Panthers this week, whose defense has given up the 6th most fantasy points to wide receivers this year and 23 touchdowns through the air. Pick up Humphries and start him if you were one of the unfortunate fantasy owners that lost Antonio Brown last Sunday.

Joe Flacco- QB- Ravens

While many fantasy owners are sprinting to pick up Eagles Quarterback Nick Foles, I like Joe Flacco against the Colts this Sunday. Flacco has been under-the-radar consistent in the last three weeks, recording 69 completions for 826 yards and five touchdowns. The Colts’ defense ranks 30th in passing yards allowed and have given up the 8th most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season. If you are in desperate need of a quarterback, Flacco might be your guy to pick up and start championship week for a buck.

Mike Gillislee- RB- Patriots

Since Rex Burkhead is likely out until the playoffs, owners should look at picking up Mike Gillislee. The running back from Florida started off the season hot, recording four touchdowns in his first two games. When Burkhead came back from injury, Gillislee saw his role diminish. He should see more opportunities though for the last two weeks of the season. He could be the running back to get the goal line carries for the Patriots. He has to compete for time with James White and Dion Lewis, but Gillislee is easily the better goal line running back on the team right now. Watch to see if Gillislee gets activated this week when the Patriots face the Bills, whose defense has given up the most points to running backs this season.

Elijhaa Penny- RB- Cardinals

It’s not clear whether Kerwynn Williams will be back on Sunday after suffering a quad injury in the second half against the Redskins last week. After Williams left the game, Elijhaa Penny recorded 10 carries for 45 yards. While Penny isn’t the most ideal player to have in your starting lineup championship week, he does have a favorable matchup against the Giants, whose defense has given up the 7th most fantasy points to running backs this season. He’s not a player to use in PPR leagues, since most of those targets will go to D.J. Foster. But pick up Penney if you are desperate for a running back this week. Just make sure Williams is ruled out before the game before picking up Penny.

Vernon Davis- TE- Redskins

Even though former 49er Vernon Davis has been inconsistent this season in the fantasy football world, he has a favorable matchup this Sunday against the Broncos defense. While Denver has shut wide receivers down all year, tight ends have been their Achilles heel. The Broncos have given up the 4th most fantasy points to tight ends this season. Davis hasn’t recorded more than 30 yards in the last four games, but he’s more than capable of grabbing a touchdown this Sunday. Pick up Davis for buck and start him.

Corey Grant- RB- Jaguars

Jaguars starting running back Leonard Fournette missed last week’s game against the Texans, which opened the door for Core Grant to get some extra playing time. Grant did not disappoint, recording 10 carries for 59 yards and a touchdown. Fournette is expected to be back this week against the 49ers, but Grant could see some opportunities if Jacksonville is up big in the second half, or if the coaches want to use Fournette sparingly since they clinched a playoff spot last week. Grant may be worth a pickup and start against San Francisco’s defense that has given up the 8th most fantasy points to running backs this season. You can Grant this week for a buck.
