Rex Burkhead- RB- Patiots
Many fantasy owners were drafting running back Rex Burkhead in the draft, but unfortunately he didn’t stay healthy very long. Since he has been back, Burkhead has made a good contribution to the Patriots’ offense. In his last two games, Burkhead has 14 carries for 51 yards, and 10 receptions for 95 yards with a touchdown. He’s been splitting most of his time with Dion Lewis, but Burkhead is the better pass blocker than Lewis and might see more snaps as a result of his blocking. He would be a good pick-up and start if you have a running back on a bye week. The Patriots face the Raiders this weekend, whose rush defense has given up the third most fantasy points to running backs this season.

Jamaal Williams- RB- Packers
Rookie running back Jamaal Williams could get the bulk of the carries this weekend with Arron Jones and Ty Montgomery battling injures. He came into the game last week against the Bears and recorded 20 carries for 67 yards. Williams might have to share the load with seventh round pick Devante Mays, but he’s likely to see more snaps by the end of the game. The Packers face an inconsistent run defense in Baltimore, so Williams might be a good pick up and start this week for a buck.

Kendrick Bourne- WR- 49ers
The 49ers are running thin at wide receiver with injuries to Pierre Garcon and Trent Taylor. Undrafted Rookie wide out Kendrick Bourne has seen more playing time in the last two weeks and his role could increase after the 49ers bye week. In two games he has five receptions for 81 yards. Bourne might be a player managers in keeper and dynasty leagues want to target. There is a good chance he could be playing a bigger role for the 49ers, and if Jimmy Garoppolo ends up playing after the bye week, Bourne could be one of the first to find some chemistry with the newly acquired QB. Pick him up this week for a dollar.

Mike Williams- WR- Chargers
Former Clemson wide out Mike Williams might be a player owners should target this week in free agency. He’s definitely a player that should be acquired in keeper and dynasty leagues, but there might a good chance the Chargers find more opportunities for Williams in the rest of the year. He missed the first five games of the year, but the Chargers have been slowly bringing him back on to the field the last few weeks. He only has seven targets on the season and four receptions for 46 yards, but Williams is one of the more talented receivers to come out of last year’s draft. He’s not a fantasy option yet, but you can get him now for a buck while he’s cheap.

Drew Stanton- QB- Cardinals
I like Drew Stanton’s matchup against the Texans this Sunday for fantasy owners in need of a quarterback for a week. Houston’s defense has given up the third most fantasy points to quarterbacks this year. Stanton has been a decent fantasy options since the injury to Carson Palmer. In the two weeks that he’s started, he recorded 39 completions for 474 yards and three scores. There is a chance that Stanton misses the game due to a knee injury he suffered late in the game against Seattle, but he’s worth picking up and starting for a dollar. If he misses Sunday’s game, Blaine Gabbert will get the start.

Benjamin Watson- TE- Ravens
While I am always cautious when picking up a Raven player in fantasy football, tight end Benjamin Watson has been extremely consistent this season. So far on the year he has 38 receptions for 261 yards and two scores. Last game against the Titans, he recorded 10 target and seven receptions for 41 yards. He’s more valuable in PPR leagues if you need a tight end to fill in for a player on a bye week. He’s second on the team in targets and receptions just behind Buck Allen in both categories. Pick up and start him this week against the Packers.
