NOTE: 49ers and Packers' Thursday night game might get pushed back this week due to positive COVID tests.

Ross Dwelley- TE- 49ers

It's possible that Jordan Reed plays in the 49ers Thursday night game against the Packers, but I expect him to sit one more week and for Ross Dwelley to get the start at tight end. When George Kittle and Reed have been out, Dwelley has been a productive fantasy player. On the season, he has six receptions for 70 reception yards and one score. The Packers have given up the third fewest fantasy points to tight ends this season, but I expect Dwelley to have a big part in the passing offense with Kittle and Deebo Samuel missing the game. Pick him up and start him for a buck.

Philip Rivers- QB- Colts

While it seems like the Colts have a tough matchup against Baltimore's defense, Phillip Rivers may be a quarterback worth picking up and starting this week. Rivers has been hot in the last two games, throwing for six touchdowns and only one interception. The Ravens pass defense ranks in the middle of the NFL, giving up the 17th most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season. Rivers is getting used to the offense after zero preseason snaps, and his recent performance has shown that he is still a valuable fantasy player. He may be worth a pickup and keeping on your roster for the rest of the season. Pick him up today for a buck.

Curtis Samuel- WR- Panthers

Panthers' wide receiver Curtis Samuel is beginning to get more involved in the offense. Last week against the Falcons, he had four receptions for 31 yards and a touchdown. He also ran for a score, which makes it his second straight game with a rushing touchdown. The Panthers have a tough matchup against the Chiefs defense, but if Samuel continues to see the same workload, he may be worth picking up this week for a buck.

Trent Taylor- WR- 49ers

With Deebo Samuel out of Thursday night's game, and Kendrick Bourne testing positive for COVID, Trent Taylor may be an interesting pick up for week 9. He is not a player who is going to produce big plays, but he could be worth a pickup and a start in full PPR leagues. With Samuel, Bourne and Kittle out, Taylor becomes one of the only veteran pass catchers on the team. You can get him for a buck.

Dexter Williams- RB- Packers

Packers' top three running backs are unlikely to play, which may leave Dexter Williams with opportunities on Thursday night. Williams was promoted from the practice squad and has a chance to be the starting running back in week 9. Tyler Ervin is also competing for carries this week, but Williams is likely to be the first and second down back. Take a chance on Williams for a buck.

Gus Edwards- RB- Ravens

Although J.K. Dobbins had a breakout game against the Steelers last week, Gus Edwards was a valuable fantasy player as well. He recorded 16 carries for 81 yards and a touchdown. Edwards is more likely to get the short yardage carries while Dobbins is more versatile in the passing game. If you need a running back this week, Edwards is a good pickup and start.
