Zach Miller- TE- Bears

Bears tight end Zach Miller has always been a good football player, but an inconsistent fantasy asset. The reason he’s been inconsistent though is because of the past quarterback situations in Chicago. With Mitchell Trubiski at quarterback, he may be able to find some consistency. Miller has touchdown in the last two week and should see more opportunities as the season goes on. So far on the season, he has 18 receptions for 207 yards and two scores. Miller and the Bears face the Panthers this weekend, whose defense might be without linebacker Luke Kuechly. Miller could be a good start if you have a tight end on a bye week. Get him for a buck.

C.J. Beathard- QB- 49ers

The 49ers are starting former Iowa quarterback C.J. Beathard this Sunday against the Cowboys. This will be Beathard’s first start in the NFL against a defense that has allowed the 7th most points to opposing quarterbacks this season. Last week against the Red Skins, Beathard came into the game as a replacement for Brain Hoyer and played pretty well. He recorded 19 completions for 245 yards and a touchdown. He may not be a player you want to start right away, but he is a great pick up in dynasty and keeper leagues. Head Coach Kyle Shanahan has a track record of improving quarterbacks and Beathard should find himself settling into the offense as the season goes on. Pick him up this week for a dollar.

Cordarrelle Patterson- WR- Oakland

Amari Cooper is on pace to becoming one the biggest busts in fantasy football history. In the last four weeks, Cooper hasn’t even reached the 30 yard mark. Former Vikings wide out Cordarrelle Patterson got 55 yards on one play last week. While Patterson hasn’t been a big part of the passing game this season, he’s made big plays in the run game. So far on the season he has 10 rushes for 124 yards and two scores. The Raiders are in desperate need of a play-maker with Cooper having a below average year, and Patterson might be able to give Oakland the spark the team needs. The Raiders play Kansas City this week, whose defense has given up the second most fantasy points to wide outs this year.

Chris Ivory- RB- Jacksonville

While rookie running back Leonard Fournette is dominating the run game in Jacksonville, Chris Ivory seems to be the consistent third down back. He had a productive game last week against the Rams, recording nine receptions for 74 yards and a touchdown. Fantasy owners should seriously consider picking up Ivory in PPR leagues. Fournette sprained his right ankle last week, so his workload might be less this week if Jacksonville want to play him conservatively. Ivory could be a good dollar pick up and start if you are need of a RB.

Bennie Fowler- WR- Broncos

It looks like wide out Bennie Fowler will get the start for the Broncos this weekend with Emmanuel Sanders out with a sprained ankle. Fowler might be a decent start this week considering the Broncos are facing the Chargers, whose defense has given up the 9th most points to fantasy wide outs this season. Fowler also had both of his touchdowns this season against the Chargers in week 1. So far on the season, he has 13 receptions for 140 yards and two scores. If you are in desperate need of a wide receiver, fowler might be your guy for a dollar.

Matt Forte- RB- Jets

The Jets are using a running back by committee, but that didn’t stop Matt Forte from getting eight receptions for 59 yards last week against the Patriots. Forte isn’t a player you want in non-PPR leagues, but he could be useful considering he’s got the best hands of all the running backs on the team. He had 17 total touches last week and could see the same amount of work if Bilal Powell sits out another game with a calf injury. Pick up and start Forte in PPR leagues only.
