Trent Taylor- WR- 49ers
With Jimmy Garappolo playing quarterback in San Francisco, fantasy owners might want to turn their attention toward wide receiver Trent Taylor. The rookie from Louisiana Tech hasn’t had the most productive season, but that might change this week as the 49ers play the Texans, whose defense has given up the 9th most fantasy points to wide receivers this season. Last week against the Bears, Taylor seemed to be Garappolo’s number one option. Taylor caught all six of his targets for 92 yards. He is definitely a player you want to consider picking up in PPR leagues, and owners in keeper and dynasty leagues might want to spend a dollar on this rookie before he gets too expensive.

Giovani Bernard- RB- Bengals
If you are heading into the playoffs with running back depth issues, you might want to pick up Giovani Bernard. After Joe Mixon left Monday’s game against the Steelers with a concussion, Bernard came into the game and had a productive stat line. He recorded 13 rushes for 77 yards and two catches for 19 yards. Mixon is questionable for the game against the Bears and has to pass concussion protocol before being cleared to play on a short week for the Bengals. Bernard is a good flex option this week against the Bears. Pick him up now for a buck.

Tom Savage- QB- Texans
Houston quarterback Tom Savage is in no way a reliable fantasy option, but he may be worth taking a look at this weekend when the Texans host the 49ers. The 49ers defense have given up the fourth most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season. Savage isn’t a player that you want to start unless you’re in a pinch, but he did produce decent fantasy numbers last week against the Titans. He recorded 31 completions for 365 yards and a score. He has a good matchup this week if you are in desperate need of a quarterback.

Dontrelle Inman- WR- Bears
Before considering any Bears wide receiver, fantasy owners must take into account rookie Mitchell Trubisky is quarterback. But if you are someone who wants to add to your wide receiver depth heading into the playoffs, Dontrelle Inman might be someone worth picking up for a buck. Inman wasn’t much of a factor until week 10, but in his last four games he has 24 targets, 15 receptions 216 yards. He scored his first touchdown of the season last weekend against the 49ers, although he had his lowest targets in those four weeks. While the Bears passing attack is limited, Inman looks like he’s the best threat. Pick up Inman for a buck this week.

Peyton Barber- RB- Buccaneers
Tampa Bay running back Peyton Barber has taken advantage of the extra playing time he’s seen in the last two weeks after Doug Martin was sidelined with a concussion. Last week against the Packers, Barber had 23 rushes for 102 yards and four receptions for 41 yards. He had two touchdowns in week 12 against the Falcons, although he only managed seven yards from five carries. Tampa Bay faces the Lions this weekend, whose defense has given up the 4th most fantasy points to running backs this season. Wait to see if Doug Martin is out another week before spending a dollar on Barber.

Stephen Anderson- TE- Texans
After Houston tight end C.J. Fiedorowicz left Sunday’s game against the Titans, back up Stephen Anderson came into the game and produced an above average stat line. Anderson saw 12 targets and hauled in five receptions for 79 yards and a touchdown. With Bruce Ellington and Fiedorowicz headed to the I.R., Anderson might be the second option in Houston until wide out Will Fuller comes back from a rib injury. The 49ers will most likely focus on shutting down DeAndre Hopkins, which should leave the field open for Anderson. Pick up and start Anderson for a buck.
