DFS Hunter Report Week 14 2018

As I mention every week, I'll be basing my weekly write-ups off DraftKings salaries, keeping in mind all suggestions are not equal and some players I like more for tournament or cash lineup builds over others.

QUARTERBACK

Top Level

Drew Brees, NO @ Tampa Bay ($6,600) - The last time Brees threw up a dud game, he followed it up with a 34.44 effort. There's no denying the matchup is nice facing the Bucs and Brees will have his usual arsenal to throw to. The salary jump was expected, even with the poor showing last week. If I'm rostering Brees in cash games, I want to see at least 20 fantasy points. We'll get that, plus more. Look for a high-scoring showdown in Tampa Bay.

Other Choices: Ben Roethlisberger, PIT @ Oakland Raiders ($6,800); Philip Rivers, LAC vs. Cincinnati Bengals ($6,500); Jameis Winston, TB vs. New Orleans Saints ($6,200)

Value

Josh Allen, BUF vs. New York Jets ($5,500) - What is it with QBs taking the game over with their legs? You gotta say "WOW" to Allen's production over the last two weeks, right? I'm getting on board this week facing the Jets. It's too bad I didn't get a clue last week, like some of you did. Nice job. At this price I'd be happy with a 17-point day, although the ceiling is high due to the youngster's legs. Take a chance on Allen in tournament play.

Other Choices: Lamar Jackson, BAL @ Kansas City Chiefs ($5,700); Eli Manning, NYG @ Washington Redskins ($5,100)

Over-Value

Tom Brady, NE @ Miami Dolphins ($5,800) - Sure, Brady can do it all… like win Super Bowls. I'm not trustful enough in Brady to use him facing an improving Dolphins defense. Brady is a bit banged up as well, and his point production in general hasn't been anything to get excited about. If you feel you must use Brady, go with cash play only. He won't give you enough to cash in tournament lineups.

Other Choices: Andrew Luck, IND @ Houston Texans ($5,900)

RUNNING BACK

Top Level

Ezekiel Elliott, DAL vs. Philadelphia Eagles ($8,600) - With the way Elliott and the Cowboys have been playing, I'm riding this scoring train for as long as it will go. Elliott is wow-hot right now, and I love the divisional matchup implications with only a few more games left in the season. This will be a grind-out game, with the Cowboys needing success on the ground. Look for Elliott to get around 30 touches again, which seems to be his magic number over his last three contests.

Other Choices: Christian McCaffery, CAR @ Cleveland Browns ($9,300); Saquon Barkley, NYG @ Washington Redskins ($8,900); Alvin Kamara, NO @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers ($8,100); Aaron Jones, GB vs. Atlanta Falcons ($7,200)

Value

Sony Michel, NE @ Miami Dolphins ($5,900) - Michel is a sneaky good play this week, and the price is nice under $6K. Michel is a good value and can be mixed in any lineup this week. I like him to earn close to value and have a shot of exceeding it. This game won't be all about James White this week, so be sure to get Michel into some of your lineups.

Other Choices: Mark Ingram, NO @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers ($5,700); Lamar Miller, HOU vs. Indianapolis Colts ($5,100); Adrian Peterson, WAS vs. New York Giants ($4,800); Tevin Coleman, ATL @ Green Bay Packers ($4,400); LeGarrette Blount, DET @ Arizona Cardinals ($3,900)

Over-Value

Melvin Gordon, LAC vs. Cincinnati Bengals ($8,000) - Even if Gordon is ready to go, I don't feel comfortable enough to roster him at $8K. Knee injuries and RBs don't mix.

Other Choices: Nick Chubb, CLE vs. Carolina Panthers ($6,700)

WIDE RECEIVER

Top Level

Odell Beckham, NYG @ Washington Redskins ($8,300) - This is a good price for Beckham, one that I consider a decent value. But Beckham is my favorite Top Level option due to the attention that Eli Manning gives him each week, getting double-digit targets as a weekly average. We should see Beckham find the end zone as well. I'm going to build a lineup around Beckham, making him a centerpiece to my massive cash winnings. Ahem.

Other Choices: Antonio Brown, PIT @ Oakland Raiders ($9,000); JuJu Smith-Schuster, PIT @ Oakland Raiders ($8,200); Keenan Allen, LAC vs. Cincinnati Bengals ($7,400)

Value

Adam Humphries, TB vs. New Orleans Saints ($4,900) - I also like Chris Godwin with the Bucs this week, although Humphries is a slightly better option with Jameis Winston looking to him plenty in games of late. Over the last two games, Humphries has been targeted 15 times, catching 13 of those. Not a bad catch rate, right? Humphries will get targeted 8-10 times this week with a great chance at a TD score in a game that should see 50-plus points total.

Other Choices: Golden Tate, PHI @ Dallas Cowboys ($4,800); Courtland Sutton, DEN @ San Francisco 49ers ($4,500)

Over-Value

Michael Thomas, NO @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers ($8,600) - If Thomas is cleared to play and won't be held back by this current ankle injury, then you can ignore this Over-Value write-up; however, if Thomas isn't 100 percent I don't see a reason to risk a roster spot on him at this price point.

Other Choices: None

TIGHT END

Top Level

Travis Kelce, KC vs. Baltimore Ravens ($6,700)

Zach Ertz, PHI @ Dallas Cowboys ($6,400)

Value

Jordan Reed, WAS vs. New York Giants ($4,600)

Austin Hooper, ATL @ Green Bay Packers ($4,300)

Vance McDonald, PIT @ Oakland Raiders ($3,800)

Over-Value

Rob Gronkowski, NE @ Miami Dolphins ($4,600)

Good luck in Week 14!
