Dollar Free Agents 2016 Week 8

By Matthew Cherrin
Matthew Cherrin Peyton Barber- RB- Buccaneers
With Doug Martin still nursing a hamstring injury, fantasy owners might want to consider picking up running back Payton Barber. Last week against the 49ers, Barber had 12 attempts for 84 yards and a score. This week, Barber and the Buccaneers face Oakland, who has given up the 10th most points to fantasy running backs this season. As of now, Jacquizz Rodgers is the starting running back in Tampa, but Barber will more than likely steal a good chunk of carries away from Rodgers. Pick him up now for a buck.

DuJuan Harris- RB- 49ers
If Carlos Hyde continues to have problems with his injured shoulder, fantasy owners should consider picking up DeJuan Harris. Many thought Mike Davis or Shaun Draughn would get the majority of the carries last week, but it was Harris you had the most rushing attempts for the 49ers. Hyde still has yet to go a full season without getting injured, so it might be a good idea for Hyde owners to pick up Harris just to have a safety net. Last week, Harris had 11 attempts for 39 yards. The 49ers have a bye week, but pick up Harris this week for a buck.

Ryan Fitzpatrick- QB- Jets
If your quarterback is on a bye week, you might want to pick up Ryan Fitzpatrick who would be a good play this week against the Browns defense that has given up the second most fantasy points to quarterbacks this year. After a dismal first five games, Fitzpatrick played mad last week and recorded his best game thus far in 2016. He went 9-14 for 120 yards and a score in the second half against a good Ravens defense. Pick up and start Fitzpatrick this week against the Browns.

Richard Rodgers- TE- Packers
Normally I don’t like the Packers’ tight end Richard Rodgers, but he has a favorable matchup this weekend against the Falcons. Atlanta have given up the 4th most fantasy points to TEs this season, and has given up touchdowns to tight ends in 5-7 games this season. He hasn’t produced much this year, but I think that could change Sunday. If your tight end is on a bye, pick up Rodgers for a buck.

Brandon LaFell- WR- Bengals
The former New England Patriot Brandon LaFell is starting to find his place in Cincinnati. In the last three games, LaFell has four touchdowns, which is tied for the most on the team, and he recorded 12 receptions for 164 yards. With a healthy Tyler Eifert and A.J. Green being the main focus for defenses, LaFell should be able to find a ton of open space and see plenty targets. Pick up LaFell this week and start him against the Red Skins that have a tendency to give up big plays.

Cordarrelle Patterson- WR- Vikings
In the last two games, the once talented prospect Cordarrelle Patterson is finally starting to show some consistency in the NFL. He recorded four receptions for 39 yards and a touchdown in week 5, and last week he had seven receptions for 67 yards and a touchdown. The Vikings face the Bears on Monday night football, a defense that has given up the most fantasy points to wide outs this year. Patterson has a ton of big-play ability, and he might be someone you want to start in week 8 if you have a wide receiver on a bye week. Pick him up now for a buck.
