Hunter Report Week 15 2017
By Dave Hunter

Week 15:
QUARTERBACK
Top Level
Russell Wilson, SEA vs. Los Angeles Rams ($7,300) – Wilson has been fantastic over his last five games played, putting up 25-plus FPPG. There is no QB in the game right now hotter than Wilson. Feel free to slot him into your lineup, knowing he’ll fulfill expectations. I love Wilson for cash games and have no issue at all if you want to slot him in for tournament play. Expect at least 20 points, but don’t get too excited when he reels in a 30-point game for you even facing the Rams.
Other choices: Tom Brady, NE @ Pittsburgh Steelers ($7,600)
Mid-Range
Drew Brees, NO vs. New York Jets ($6,500) – You have to love the price tag on Brees. I know he hasn’t been anything special of late, although Brees is a QB that can explode on any given Sunday. His FPPG average is certainly respectable, so don’t discount his consistent production. The Jets will be playing with their tails between their legs and Brees is a great candidate for a huge game. He certainly has the weapons to use, considering Michael Thomas and the running game in Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara.
Other choices: Aaron Rodgers, GB @ Carolina Panthers ($6,800); Jimmy Garoppolo, SF vs. Tennessee Titans ($6,300)
Value
Blake Bortles, JAC vs. Houston Texans ($5,700) – Are you surprised about Bortles’ play of late? I know I am. I was a huge Bortles guy last season, but that didn’t work out too well. This season in camp it was rumored Bortles wouldn’t even start, and now he’s guiding the offense to solid victories. Sure, the defense has been leading the way, but when you have weapons like Leonard Fournette it really helps. I love the emergence of Dede Westbrook as well, and I expect Bortles to continue looking his way. The Texans secondary is not a group to be concerned about in 2017. I like Bortles to toss two TD passes this week, and net about 250 yards or so. Give Bortles a go in tournament play.
Other choices: Nick Foles, PHI @ New York Giants ($5,500); Joe Flacco, BAL @ Cleveland Browns ($5,100)
Over-Value
Jared Goff, LAR @ Seattle Seahawks ($6,200) – Goff was awful in his earlier season appearance facing the Seahawks, and I don’t expect the matchup in Seattle to be much different. You’re taking a huge gamble here at $6.2K. I can see, maybe, for a contrarian lineup but even then, you’re expecting a bit much. I’m passing on Goff this week, even to play a guy like Blake Bortles.
RUNNING BACK
Top Level
Le'Veon Bell, PIT vs. New England Patriots ($9,300) – This is a steep price to pay for Bell, although I’m okay with it in the right circumstances. I won’t be surprised if the Patriots lose to the Steelers, making this a two-game losing streak. Odd, huh? Bell will get the ball a ton in this game and I like him to put up similar production to Week 14. That would make him well worth the $9.3K price tag. You’re going to have to find some good value in your lineup at other positions to take advantage of Bell.
Other choices: Mark Ingram, NO vs. New York Jets ($8,200)
Mid-Range
Kenyan Drake, MIA @ Buffalo Bills ($5,800) – I just checked the weather forecast in Buffalo on Sunday, and all is a go for now. So, no snow flurries. No snow-blanketed field. That means I like Drake that much more this week. The price is outstanding after the performance he put up on MNF facing the Patriots. To be perfectly honest, I thought he’d be tagged higher. I’m taking advantage in all DFS formats. Give me Drake. Lock and load.
Other choices: Christian McCaffery, CAR vs. Green Bay Packers ($6,000); Dion Lewis, NE @ Pittsburgh Steelers ($5,400)
Value
Alex Collins, BAL @ Cleveland Browns ($5,000) – Play of the century here? Ha. Maybe, although the Browns run defense has been decent to this point overall. It’s everywhere else they stink. Still, give me Collins and his salary in a tournament lineup. The kid can do just about everything with the ball, and you must love his receiving skills, eh?
Other choices: Jay Ajayi, PHI @ New York Giants ($5,000); Derrick Henry, TEN @ San Francisco 49ers ($4,700); Mike Davis, SEA vs. Los Angeles Rams ($4,000)
Over-Value
Alvin Kamara, NO vs. New York Jets ($8,600) – Sure, the word is that Kamara is fine and he’ll be good to go. But, good to go enough that you’re willing to lock in $8.6K? Yikes. I’m not crazy about spending that kind of money on a guy that is proclaiming himself “ok” after going through the NFL concussion protocol. No thanks.
WIDE RECEIVER
Top Level
Antonio Brown, PIT vs. New England Patriots ($9,100) – If you’re ready to spend the dough, go for it – Brown is one that can easily crank out another magnificent performance. The Patriots pass defense is one of the worst in the league and the Steelers should be able to get the numbers in the passing game especially. I love Brown in Week 15.
Other choices: Michael Thomas, NO vs. New York Jets ($7,400)
Mid-Range
Devin Funchess, CAR vs. Green Bay Packers ($6,600) – Funchess is producing this season and we’re loving it. The matchup here is great and Cam Newton looks to Funchess enough that he’s turning into a No. 2 wide receiver in my book. I like Funchess more for cash play to pair with a top-notch WR, assuming you’re willing to take a cut at the RB slot. The potential with Funchess is solid as well, so something to think about as you build your lineups.
Other choices: A.J. Green, CIN @ Minnesota Vikings ($6,500); Jordy Nelson, GB @ Carolina Panthers ($6,300)
Value
Dede Westbrook, JAC vs. Houston Texans ($5,100) – I like Westbrook so much I’m leaving him right here from last week. Yeah, his salary took a jump up but that’s expected after the solid week he had. I’m perfectly okay paying the tag here with Bortles clicking in the passing game and the Jaguars in general playing so well. Westbrook is an excellent play, and a huge playmaker about to bust out in a huge way.
Other choices: Nelson Agholor, PHI @ New York Giants ($4,400); Randall Cobb, GB @ Carolina Panthers ($4,900)
Over-Value
DeAndre Hopkins, HOU @ Jacksonville Jaguars ($7,700) – Okay, I love Hopkins and won’t be surprised if he has a solid game; however, considering what the Jacksonville defense has done this season and especially the secondary, I’m not willing to spend the kind of dough that it takes to roster Hopkins. I’m passing in Week 15, even though I’m not all squishy inside over it. Gulp.
TIGHT END
Top Level
Rob Gronkowski, NE @ Pittsburgh Steelers 9$7,300)
Mid-Range
Zach Ertz, PHI @ New York Giants ($6,000)
Delanie Walker, TEN @ San Francisco 49ers ($5,200)
Value
Greg Olsen, CAR vs. Green Bay Packers ($4,000)
