Quick Hits: Week Six

Carson Wentz is having one heck of a second season in the NFL. This week he took down the Panthers by throwing three TDs and for 222 yards. He is a clear cut QB1 in any fantasy league.

Zach Ertz might not be the flashiest of TEs in the NFL, but if it comes down to the red zone Wentz is constantly looking in his direction, his two TD performance proves just that as he had just two catches.

Each week it looks more and more like Nelson Agholor is finally trying to figure it out. He is a nice FLEX option in larger fantasy leagues.

Even when he cannot seem to find running lanes in the backfield, Christian McCaffrey will hurt you as a WR. This week he caught 10 passes for 56 yards and a TD. He is a threat to score each week, you can start him at the RB or FLEX position.

Jay Ajayi continues to prove he is a monster at RB for the Dolphins. Without him, the Dolphins might be looking at a defeated record. Ajayi ran the ball 26 times for 130 yards and he should be a no brainer to start at RB each week.

If Jarvis Landry had a better QB it seems like he could easily be an All-Pro WR each year, instead he has to deal with the paltry Jay Cutler. Even given the subpar QB play Landry caught eight passes for 62 yards and a TD.

Devonta Freeman ran the ball nine times for 68 yards for an average for 7.6 YPC.

Tevin Coleman ran the ball nine times for 32 yards for an average of 3.6 YPC.

The Falcons need to get the ball into Freeman’s hands much more often than Coleman, he is a big play threat whenever he has the ball in his hands.

The Mitchell Trubisky show is going to be bumpy, but fun to watch. The young QB has tremendous upside and brings a winning edge to the Bears. He needs to limit his turnovers but he makes a few plays a game that make you say WOW. He is more of a backup QB for fantasy leagues right now but he has the potential to score big time points.

Jordan Howard is another young RB who is performing extremely well. Howard ran the ball 36 times for 167 yards which is enabling a ton of pressure to be taken off of Trubisky. He is a clear cut RB1 and should be started each week he is healthy.

The Ravens only really have to capable options for fantasy football. They are RBs Buck Allen & Alex Collins. Allen should get more opportunities than he is already getting but the Ravens use a RB by committee approach. Allen is a tremendous pass catcher and can score on any given play. Collins is a bruiser that runs between the tackles and is extremely hard to bring down. Allen is a RB1 option and Collins is more of a FLEX option for now.

Is there anything that Deshaun Watson can’t do? The rookie QB looks far and away better than any of his counterparts from his draft class and this week he threw for another 225 yards and three TDs. Watson is already a QB1 and should be started each week.

Will Fuller V might not end the game with an abundance of catches or yards but he seems to have a knack for finding the end zone. He is a decent FLEX option with big play potential.

Brett Hundley is now the starting QB for the Packers and he might surprise a few people. Sure this week he threw three INTs and lost a fumble but he wasn’t nearly as prepared as he will be moving forward. Hundley has big play potential and he might be worth storing on your bench.

If Hundley wants to succeed early he just needs keep finding the hottest WR in the NFL in Davante Adams. Adams has been playing outstanding the last three weeks catching four TDs.

The Vikings lost their starting RB for the year and Jerick McKinnon has stepped up and filled that void quite nice. McKinnon ran the ball 15 times for 69 yards and a TD to go with his five receptions for 30 yards and a TD. He has shot himself into FLEX starter role or possibly RB2 in a deep league.

The Saints traded Adrian Peterson to the Cardinals and it worked out well for both teams. The Saints got the best game of the season out of Mark Ingram, who ran the ball 25 times for 114 yards and two TDs to go with five receptions and 36 yards and the Cardinals got a still lethal Peterson.

Peterson ran the ball 26 times for 134 yards and two TDs proving he is still more than capable of being a RB1 in any fantasy football league.

Alvin Kamara is also doing great things at RB for the Saints as the youngster ran the ball 10 times for 75 yards to go with three catches, he is a nice FLEX option.

Tom Brady to Rob Gronkowski is too easy. Brady threw for two TDs this week and both went to Gronk. When healthy there is no doubt these two are the best at their positions and should be started in any fantasy football league weekly.

Josh McCown is playing some of the best football in his career and he narrowly lost to the Patriots. He has the Jets sitting at 3-3 which is much better than anyone thought they would be. This week he threw for 354 yards and two TDs proving he is still a capable asset in fantasy football as well.

The 49ers started a youngster at QB in C.J. Beathard and he didn’t look half bad. Beathard threw for 245 yards with one TD and one INT. He isn’t a capable starter in fantasy football but he could be a decent backup in a deep league when your starter has a bye week.

Carlos Hyde is the only consistent playmaker the 49ers have, if he isn’t having a great rushing day he can catch the ball out of the backfield and hurt teams. This week he had 28 rushing yards and 47 passing yards to go with two TDs.

The combination of Samaje Perine & Chris Thompson is proving to be lethal to opposing defenses. The duo combined to run the ball 25 times for 56 yards to go with seven receptions for 129 yards and a TD. Thompson is the better fantasy option but Perine is gaining ground.

Carson Palmer & Larry Fitzgerald both had a tremendous game this week, Palmer threw for 283 yard and three TDs while Fitz caught 10 passes for 138 yards and a TD.

The Jaguars have a beast in Leonard Fournette as the rookie RB continues to have huge games. This week he ran the ball 21 times for 130 yards and a TD.

If Fournettes’ injury is more serious than anticipated, Chris Ivory could be a sneaky good start at RB.

Le’Veon Bell beat Kansas City on his own, as he could not be stopped. Bell ran the ball 32 times for 179 yards and a TD to go with his three catches for 12 yards.

Is Orleans Darkwa finally the answer at RB for the Giants? It’s probably too soon to suggest that but he did run the ball for an impressive 117 yards and should get plenty of options to prove his worth this season as the Giants are going to be bad all year.

Evan Engram is proving to be a steal of a draft pick for the Giants, he continues to get better and this week he caught five passes for 82 yards and a TD.

The Titans beat the Colts by 14 but the game was much closer than that the entire time. All that was truly proven was that they need to get Derrick Henry the ball a lot more often, the second year RB ran the ball 19 times for 131 yards and a TD.

Marcus Mariota didn’t look fully healthy but he still threw for 306 yards, the Titans have some decent WRs but they don’t have a dominate WR1. Mariota would probably have a lot more TDs if they had a better WR for red zone possessions.
