Recapping the Injuries week 11 2016

By Armando Marsal
Armando Marsal As usual, I will review some of the injuries that occurred in the weekend and the implications they may have on your fantasy teams. This weekend was filled with injuries and some that will impact fantasy owners in a big way. Let’s take a look at some of the injuries that occurred this week.

A.J. Green – Bengals: Green was carted off of the field early in the first quarter after suffering a hamstring injury. Initial reports suggest that he could be done for the season, but he is set to undergo an MRI Monday which would give us the answer we are all anxiously waiting for. Tyler Boyd and Brandon LaFell will see an uptick in targets, should Green miss the remainder of the season.

Robert Woods – Bills: Woods left Sunday’s game with a knee injury and was spotted on crutches after the game. The severity of the injury is not yet known, but so far it does not look promising. We should hear more about the extent of the injury after further tests.

Darren Sproles - Eagles: Sproles was knocked out of Sunday’s game against the Seahawks with a rib injury and never returned. His status for this upcoming week is unknown, but rib injuries are tricky for running backs as they take a lot of hits. It is something to monitor throughout the week.

Ryan Mathews – Eagles: Mathews exited Sunday’s game after suffering a knee injury and was spotted wearing a knee brace after the game. He is expected to undergo an MRI Monday to determine the severity of the injury. Once those results come in, we will have a better idea on a timetable for him. With both running backs for the Eagles dinged up, we could see Wendell Smallwood get some run.

C.J. Prosise – Seahawks: Prosise suffered a scapula injury on Sunday and is expected to miss “upwards of eight weeks.” Thomas Rawls returned to action this weekend and will likely receive the bulk of the work for the Seahawks during Prosise’s absence.

LeSean McCoy – Bills: McCoy suffered a dislocated thumb in Sunday’s game against the Bengals. The injury will require surgery, but initial reports suggest that McCoy will play in Week 12. It is definitely something to closely monitor throughout the week. Fantasy owners should have a backup plan ready to roll in case Shady McCoy misses the next game.

T.J. Yeldon – Jaguars: Yeldon suffered an ankle injury against the Lions on Sunday. At this time, no reports regarding the severity of the injury have come out, so we will likely know more about the injury early in the week.

Giovani Bernard – Bengals: It was a brutal weekend for the Bengals to say the least. Bernard suffered a torn ACL and is expected to miss the remainder of the season. Jeremy Hill will likely receive the bulk of the workload for Cincy the remainder of the season.

Zach Miller – Bears: Miller will miss the remainder of the season with a broken foot. He has a long history of foot injuries so we will see how this plays out for next season. At this time, fantasy owners can go ahead and drop him.

Cody Kessler – Browns: Kessler suffered a concussion in Sunday’s loss to the Steelers. This is the second time this season that he is concussed. The Browns may shut him down for the season according to early reports, which would make sense since this is pretty much a lost season for Cleveland
