DFS Cash Game Breakdown 2019 Week 16

Quarterback

Will Grier, Carolina Panthers

The Panthers have moved on from Kyle Allen but they made that decision after prices were released, leaving Will Grier massively underpriced. He's the minimum price ($6,000) on Fanduel and nearly there on DraftKings ($4,300). He opens up a ton of salary which you'll need this week to fit in Michael Thomas and Chrisitan McCaffrey.

Grier was a prolific producer at West Virginia, throwing for 7,354 yards and 71 scores in two seasons. Add in a dynamic cast of weapons from D.J. Moore to Curtis Samuel and Grier is a free square.

Running Back

Christian McCaffrey, Carolina Panthers

Instead of giving you the boring spiel of why Chrisitan McCaffrey should be in your cash lineup again, here are a few records he's chasing in the final two games and what he needs to get them:

  • Yards from scrimmage - 388 yards
  • Running back receiving yards - 234
  • Running back receptions - 13 (although he already owns this one)
  • The third 1,000/1,000 season - 186 receiving yards

Boston Scott, Philadelphia Eagles

Boston Scott made his name known two weeks ago with 128 scrimmage yards on Monday Night Football. He followed up with 65 yards but seven receptions making him an outstanding DraftKings play. His price was only bumped to $4,000. Scott had a 16% market share of the Eagles' targets and played on 35 of 77 offensive snaps. With Philly reeling at wideout to end the season, expect to see more of Scott against the Cowboys in a must-win game this week.

Wide Receiver

Michael Thomas, New Orleans Saints

Michael Thomas also falls under the category of "players so obvious for cash that I'm just going to list off some records and what they need to achieve it":

  • Receptions - 10
  • Catch percentage - 1.5% improvement over his 83.6% mark (although he already owns this one)
  • Receiving yards - 412 (almost certainly not happening but he could easily become the fourth player to crack 1,800 yards)

Chris Conley, Jacksonville Jaguars

Conley was the best value of the slate last week and made good on the title with two scores. He got there on eight targets and 90 air yards. Both marks led all Jacksonville receivers.

His price wasn't hiked up high enough as he is still a value across all DFS sites.

Conley stepped into the D.J. Chark role and it seems more likely than not that Chark misses another week while nursing his ankle injury.

This week Conley and the Jags face Atlanta as 7.5-point dogs on the road which is the perfect game-script for their passing game. Coincidentally, Atlanta is 23rd in passing yards allowed at 253.7 per game.

Tight End

Austin Hooper, Atlanta Falcons

Austin Hooper has come back to the Falcons and seamlessly returned to his role from earlier this season. In two games back he has 12 targets. Now he gets a Jacksonville defense that has been lenient to the tight end position: they have allowed seven scores, fourth-most in the NFL, to tight ends.

Atlanta also has an astronomical team total of 27 points, third-highest on the slate. Capture a large share of their scores with Hooper.

Defense

Washington Redskins

Washington is the winner of the "Cheapest Home Favorite Defense" award this week on both Fanduel ($3,800) and DraftKings ($2,800). They're nothing special, but Washington's defense has been passable this season despite their record.

They have allowed the 21st-most yards and 20th-most points, both of which are fine when paying down at defense.

Only four teams have a lower implied team total that their opponent, the New York Giants, this week and they get to face Eli Manning.

Inexplicably, Manning found a way to throw three interceptions against the Miami Dolphins. Brian Hoyer holds the distinction of being the only other passer with three picks against Miami this season.
