Recapping the Injuries week 20 2016

By Armando Marsal
Armando Marsal As per usual, I will review some of the injuries and how it will impact this week. Let’s take a look below at some of the injuries affecting this round of the post season.

Julio Jones – Falcons: Jones did not practice on Wednesday and Thursday, while getting a limited session in on Friday due to his toe injury, but is fully expected to play. This has been a nagging injury and one he has been able to play through. Look for him to suit up this week in a fantastic matchup against the Packers, who surrendered the most fantasy points per game to receivers.

Davante Adams – Packers: Adams rolled his ankle in last week’s game against the Cowboys and did not practice all week. He is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game, but is expected to give it a go. We will know more on his status on game day.

Geronimo Allison – Packers: Allison is dealing with a hamstring injury that kept him out of practice all week, but is fully expected to play. He played in the Divisional Round game against the Cowboys, catching three of five targets for 46 yards. It is likely that he will gut it out, but these injuries are tricky and he would make a risky DFS play.

Jordy Nelson – Packers: Nelson is dealing with fractured ribs and flu like symptoms. He was limited on Wednesday and Thursday, while missing Friday’s practice. He is considered questionable for this contest, but even if he play you have to ask yourself how effective will he really be. We should know more about his status on Sunday.

Malcolm Mitchell – Patriots: Mitchell has not played since Week 16 due to a knee injury. He logged in some practices this week and is trending in the right direction as far as availability is concerned. He averaged 5.5 targets per game in his last six and scored four touchdowns during that stretch.

Chris Hogan – Patriots: Hogan is dealing with a thigh injury and was seen walking with a noticeable limp on Friday, according to reports. He left last week’s game against the Texans due to the injury and did not return. He practiced on Wednesday and Thursday, and is expected to suit up this week, but he will be playing at less than 100 percent health.

Danny Amendola – Patriots: Amendola returned to action last week, after missing the final four games of the season due to a high ankle sprain. He played in just 30 percent of the snaps in his return and suffered not setbacks. He participated in all of this week’s practices on a limited basis and is expected to play this week against the Steelers. Chances are that he will play as he was able to play last week, barring any setbacks expect to see him on the field.

Martellus Bennett – Patriots: Bennett tweaked his knee in last week’s game against the Texans. He logged in limited practices this week, but that is a regular week for Bennett. At this time, he is expected to play in Sunday’s game against the Steelers, but is listed as questionable. It would be surprising if he sits.

Ladarius Green – Steelers: Green has not seen the field since Week 15 due to a concussion. He practiced on Friday on a limited basis, but remains in the league’s concussion protocol. His status is in doubt this week and it would be surprising to see him play. Jesse James will get another start if Green is out.
