Week 11 DFS Flex Plays DraftKings 2016

By Armando Marsal
Armando Marsal On DraftKings, there is a flex spot which allows you to take different approaches in your lineup construction. Our goal every week is to find you some solid options that fit in the flex position and provide some nice upside. Let’s dive right into some flex targets for this week.

Running Back

Frank Gore $5,000 vs. Tennessee Titans
Gore has scored at least one touchdown in three consecutive games and has seven total touchdowns for the season. He is averaging 15.7 fantasy points per game and has not scored fewer than 14 fantasy points in four straight games. He is facing a Titans defense that he saw in Week 7. In that game, he rushed for 61 yards on 17 carries and caught all five of his targets for 22 yards and a touchdown. Gore has received 38.6 percent of the Colts touches (includes receiving and rushing) and handles 58.8 percent of the red zone rushes. He is a big part of this offense and continues to be a consistent back that produces solid numbers each week. He comes at an affordable price this week.

LeGarrette Blount $6,400 at San Francisco 49ers
The price is going up for Blount, but considering his role in this offense and the matchup, I am willing to pay the taxed price this week. He has scored a touchdown in all but one game this season and has twelve for the year, scoring six touchdowns in his last three games. This week he faces a 49ers defense that has allowed +4.3 points above expectations to opposing running backs, per Fantasy Labs and is yielding 30.4 rush attempts and 160.1 rushing yards per game, while giving up 13 rushing touchdowns. The Patriots are heavy favorites in this game, so Blount could receive plenty of carries. As it is, he is averaging 20.2 carries per game and accounts for 80.4 percent of the red zone rushes for New England.

Wide Receiver

Eli Rogers $4,300 at Cleveland Browns
Rodgers has received five or more targets in four straight games and has now put together two consecutive solid outings. He is averaging 16.75 fantasy points per game that last two weeks. This week’s matchup against the Browns is one that favors him as they have allowed +2.1 points above expectations to opposing wide receiver, per Fantasy Labs. Cleveland is giving up 177.4 receiving yards per game and have surrendered 14 receiving touchdowns. Assuming Rogers’ role remains the same it has been in recent weeks and this favorable matchup, he should be able to pay off his salary.

Golden Tate $5,300 vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Since Week 6, Tate is averaging 10.8 targets per game and has not seen fewer than nine targets in a single game. In that timeframe, he is averaging eight receptions, 94.8 yards, and 21.3 fantasy points per game, while scoring two touchdowns. The Jags have allowed +1.9 points above expectations to wide receivers, per Fantasy Labs. They are giving up 147.7 receiving yards per game and have surrendered 11 receiving touchdowns. Taking the solid matchup and volume into consideration, Tate makes a lot of sense at this reasonable price tag.

Tight End

Julius Thomas $3,500 at Detroit Lions
Thomas has scored a touchdown in three of his last four games and is averaging 6.3 targets per game during that span. This weekend he has a great matchup against the Lions who are yielding 5.8 receptions and 58 receiving yards per game, while giving up nine touchdowns. They have surrendered a touchdown to in all but two games and have allowed +4.2 point above expectations to tight ends, per Fantasy Labs. At this low price, Thomas is in a good spot to exceed his salary and provide a good return on investment.
