Tony Romo 2016 Outlook
Romo had surgery to shore up his left collarbone against what would be a fourth fracture. He subsequently declared that everything is fine. "My surgery has healed up nicely," Romo said on Twitter in late March. The Cowboys and their fans undoubtedly will be hoping for a full regular season (and postseason) from the veteran QB. The same goes for fantasy football owners. While his claim is no guarantee of a fully healthy season ahead, eliminating the left collarbone as a potential source of lost time can only be taken as a positive. Meanwhile, owner and GM Jerry Jones reaffirmed his faith in Romo. "I'm planning on Romo being the quarterback for the next four or five years," Jones said. Romo, who turned 36 in April, missed 12 games in 2015 because of the collarbone injuries and a game each in 2013 and '14 because of back injuries. "There is no angst on my part," Jones said of the injury issues, confident in his belief that Romo will be his QB until at least 2020. With the league's best offensive line and Dez Bryant at wideout, Romo is well-positioned to put up strong numbers -- as long as he's on the field.
