The Facts: Jerry Jones notified all NFL GMs they are permitted to contact Romo or his agent to schedule a workout, visit or physical, a source tells NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.
Diehards Line:
Garafolo added the Cowboys informed clubs they are "limited to conversations concerning (Romo's) 2017-19 NFL player contract" with the goal being to facilitate a trade. In other words, they're only looking to hear from teams interested in trading for Romo. Which, of course, seems unlikely to happen since it appears teams that might be interested -- most notably the Houston Texans -- are likely just fine waiting with the Cowboys all but certain to release Romo at some point. It might be nice for a new team to get him on board as early as possible, but with recent reports suggesting that April 17, when the Cowboys begin their offseason program, is a likely deadline to move Romo, waiting the Cowboys out seems like the wisest approach.
