Romo Has A Broken Bone In His Back; QB Could Miss 6-10 Weeks
As Profootballtalk.com framed it: "If that hit on quarterback Tony Romo’s back looked bad, there’s a good reason for it. It was bad. ..." And the news for the Cowboys and fantasy football owners is as well.

The Cowboys announced a short time ago than an MRI on Romo's back revealed a broken bone. Citing a source with knowledge of the situation, PFT's Mike Florio reports that Romo is expected to miss 6-10 weeks. The Cowboys aren't offering a timetable other than to say it's not season-ending.

It means that those Cowboys fans who had been clamoring for the Dak Prescott era to begin sooner than later will be getting their wish. For better or worse.

For Romo, the best-case scenario based on the initial estimate means he’d be back by Week 5 at the earliest, for a game against the Bengals. Under the worst case, he’d be back in for Week 9, versus the Browns. Dallas has a Week 7 bye.

In the interim, we'll all get to see if Prescott is really as good as he's looked early this preseason. We'll also likely get a heavy dose of Ezekiel Elliott.
