Recapping the Injuries week 15 2016

By Armando Marsal
Armando Marsal As usual, I will review some of the injuries that occurred in the weekend and the implications they may have on your fantasy teams. There were some injuries that can be impactful as the fantasy playoffs arrive. Let’s take a look at some of the injuries that occurred this week.
Ryan Tannehill – Dolphins: Tannehill left Sunday’s game after sustaining a knee injury. Initial reports were that he could miss the remainder of the season with an MCL injury, but it was reported Monday that he could still play this season. He will get a second opinion before making a decision. If he misses any time, Matt Moore will get the start for the Dolphins Melvin Gordon – Chargers: Gordon was carted off the field with a knee and hip injury. Initial reports suggest that he is day-to-day, so it is something worth monitoring throughout the week. Kennett Farrow stepped in for Gordon and played the majority of the offensive snaps.
Matt Forte – Jets: Forte suffered a knee injury that knocked him out of Sunday’s game against the 49ers. There have been no updates regarding the severity, but he was expected to undergo an MRI early in the week. Once those results are in, we will know more regarding a potential time table for his return. If he misses any time, Bilal Powell will be in for a heavy workload.
Wendell Smallwood – Eagles: Smallwood was placed on IR on Monday with an MCL injury and will miss the remainder of the season.
Darren Sproles – Eagles: Sproles took a big hit on a punt return and was knocked out of the game. He has been placed in the league’s concussion protocol and will have to be cleared from that before playing again.
Torrey Smith – 49ers: Smith was carted off the field after suffering what appeared to be a serious head injury. No updates on his status were provided on Monday, so it is something worth keeping a close eye on. His Week 15 status is up in the air.
Donte Moncrief – Colts: Moncrief left Sunday’s game with a hamstring injury. It appears he aggravated the same injury he suffered a couple of weeks back. He is considered week-to-week and his status for Week 15 in uncertain.
Jared Cook – Packers: Cook suffered a chest injury that knocked him out of Sunday’s game, but initial reports suggest that he will play in Week 15. It will likely be dependent on his practice throughout the week. It is something worth keeping an eye on.
Vance McDonald – 49ers: McDonald suffered a shoulder injury on Sunday and was placed on the IR on Monday, ending his season.
Players that were injured but were able to play through it Aaron Rodgers – Rodgers: Calf Matthew Stafford – Lions: Hand Randall Cobb – Packers: Ankle Devin Funchess – Panthers: Mouth
