Following up on the ongoing story. ... According to 49ers WebZone's David Bonilla, Deebo Samuel faked out reporters on Friday. The media saw the San Francisco 49ers wide receiver leave for the weight room as practice kicked off, causing reporters to assume he would not participate for the second consecutive day.

Moments later, Samuel re-emerged and joined his teammates on the practice field, forcing several tweet corrections from the media on hand.

Samuel is dealing with a quad injury. The 49ers hope to have him available for Sunday's clash at Levi's Stadium with the Miami Dolphins. On Friday morning, head coach Kyle Shanahan was asked if the wideout might be a game-time decision.

"So far, it is," Shanahan responded on KNBR. "He's got to do something today for it to be a chance to be a game-time decision."

Samuel is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's game.
