Browns Trade Coleman To Bills; A Sign Of Confidence In Gordon?
The Browns agreed to a trade that sends receiver and former first-round draft pick Corey Coleman to the Buffalo Bill for a draft pick, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Sunday.

The Browns selected Coleman with the 15th pick of the 2016 draft after trading the No. 2 overall pick to Philadelphia so the Eagles could draft quarterback Carson Wentz.

As Proofootballtalk.com noted, Coleman’s trade continues a run of disappointing first-round picks for the Browns.

From 2012-2016, the list of Cleveland first-round picks have included running back Trent Richardson, quarterback Brandon Weeden, linebacker Barkevious Mingo, cornerback Justin Gilbert, quarterback Johnny Manziel, defensive tackle Danny Shelton, center Cameron Erving and Coleman. Not one of those players remains on the roster as the team gets set for the 2018 season.

The Bills appear to be buying low on Coleman in the hops of providing some additional weapons at wide receiver for Josh Allen. Coleman joins Zay Jones, Kelvin Benjamin, Jeremy Kerley, Andre Holmes and Rod Streater as possible targets for Buffalo quarterbacks this season.

Coleman's departure would seem to lend credence to comments by Browns general manager John Dorsey, who said this week that he still expects Josh Gordon back this season.

"I told you all he would be here and he will be here,' said Dorsey.

Gordon, who's on the reserve/did not report list and in Stage 3 of the NFL's Substance Abuse Program, is in Gainesville, Fla., where he spent 90 days in inpatient rehab last summer and fall. He's believed to be working with some of the same counselors as last year so there's continuity in his program.

Gordon's immediate future is in the hands of his medical team. When they determine he can handle the physical, mental and emotional demands of the season, they'll allow him to return to the team.

According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the Browns have worked closely with the NFL to make sure that Gordon's health and well-being are the most important thing, and that he's not pressured by any deadlines to end his current treatment plan before he's ready.

We'll continue to watch for more on Gordon and on Coleman in coming days.
