CHICAGO BEARS UPDATE

lHOWARD LIMITED DUE TO ONOING SHOULDER ISSUE; WRIGHT LIMITED TOO

Following up on this week's Team Notes. ... Jordan Howard headed the list of Bears who were limited in Wednesday's practice.

Howard has been dealing with an injured right shoulder since the first half of the Bears' Week 1 loss to the Falcons. After aggravating the injury Sunday at Tampa Bay, he was wearing a sling but didn't touch on the ailment until a media session Monday.

"My shoulder, I'm good, I'm good," he told Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun-Times.

While Howard is clearly not working at the same level he did as a rookie last season, offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains insisted the opposite on Wednesday.

"Yes, sir. I do think he is," the coach said when asked if Howard is running like he did last season. "I think he's running hard. We've got to do a better job up front and help him. It wasn't one guy. It was falling off the block here or there and not finishing the way that we need to up front to help him. When you get him to the second level he's a good back. He's going to break tackles. It's tough for people to tackle him for four quarters. The Atlanta game we were much better than we were against Tampa."

Nonetheless, as CBSSports.com noted, if Howard's limited session Wednesday is any indication, he's still hampered by the injury and could again play second fiddle to Tarik Cohen for the second weekend in a row.

In addition to Howard, receiver Kendall Wright (shoulder) was limited. Markus Wheaton (finger) worked fully. .

Wheaton told reporters on Wednesday that his surgically repaired finger "feels good enough."
